Do you have a plan to keep your Sheltie safe?
📝 Use a gate or a crate to prevent door darting when guests arrive and leave.
🔐 Having a barbeque? Lock the gate.
🐕‍🦺 Use a leash/lead, even in fenced yard.
🐶 Provide a safe retreat away from guests.

Your Sheltie may be out of their comfort zone due to visitors and may react unexpectedly.

pupdate on foster Sheltie Shadow from her vet appointment: “Dr. Sneller smiled as we walked into the exam room, asking, ‘Is this the same dog?’ She was so surprised by Shadow’s continued progress and growth.

When we got in the clinic she went over and did a perfect sit on the scale. She’s lost a little weight and Dr. said she’s in better condition. Shadow approached the tech and Dr. She was a little worried on the table so I stood in front of her, and Shadow immediately leaned her head into my chest. It was pretty sweet. I’m so proud of her! :)”

Shadow has gained so much confidence with the support of her foster family! 🥰

🚍Back to school safety tips:
• Your Sheltie is safest at home when you walk to your child’s bus stop. We’re aware of dogs being scared by the bus.
• Know where your Sheltie is before the kids run out the door. Use door gates.
• Secure your Sheltie with a seatbelt or crate if driving the kids to school.
• Keep backpacks, schoolbags, lunch bags and trash out of reach.
