If you love unique fine-leafed stem plants, you have to try Tropica's 1-2-Grow! Proserpinaca palustris, known by most as Mermaid W**d.

While P. palustris is native across the Americas, Tropica's specific variant originates from an island off Cuba. It’s a bit more demanding, requiring high light and CO2 to reach its full potential, but it is well worth it! When its needs are met, the initial green saw-tooth leaves transform into intense, fiery red needle-like leaves making for an absolutely stunning plant.

For expert tips on keeping your P. palustris thriving, check out 2hraquarist.com. Not only do they offer a ton of great info, but we also carry their fertilizers and care products right here in the store!

Keyhole Cichlids are in stock!

Contrary to popular belief, not all cichlids are aggressive. There are many species that are considered peaceful, Keyholes being one of them. Their chill attitudes, hardiness and max size under 5 inches make them ideal centerpieces in many community tanks.

Try one for yourself, and you'll see why they have always been a hobbyist favorite!

We have 2 beautiful male Pink Dumbo Halfmoon Bettas right now. These are probably one of the most impressive looking of the fancy tail variants, but because their fins grow so large they do require a little extra care and attention.

We could just sit and watch the Pea Puffers explore their tank all day!

Pufferfish are known by many for their intelligence and curiosity; Pea Puffers are no different. They are highly social fish and adding a group to a species-only planted aquarium allows their personalities to really shine through.

Nobody appreciates a water change quite like the Bamboo Shrimp!

A well established aquarium is generally full of microscopic life. When you wipe the glass or stir the sand you send all that life into the water column. Bamboo Shrimp use their fan-like appendages to catch those organism to feed on.

Male Panda Guppies are in stock!

These dwarf guppies stay smaller than traditional fancy guppies thanks to a naturally occurring genetic trait known as the "pink gene." Because this trait is autosomal (located on regular chromosomes rather than X or Y), both males and females inherit their compact size equally. Panda Guppies can be safely housed with other fancy guppies, though they will feel most comfortable with some of their own kind in the mix.

If you haven't had a chance to check out the new Bucephalandra sordidula 'Blue' we received this week yet, you're missing out. We added some to our nano display and we're already loving it!

Buce is a low maintenance epiphytic plant that can grow in almost any lighting conditions, though higher light will bring out more intense colors and patterns.

We have a variety of different Borneo Suckers available.

In the aquarium trade common names like Borneo Sucker, Butterfly Loach and Hillstream Loach are often used interchangeably. Though they are all related, they do slightly differ in body shapes, as well as location found.
The name Borneo Sucker covers multiple species within the Gastromyzon genus that are found inhabiting the streams of Borneo. Regardless of what common name you call them, they are some of the most unique freshwater fish we have in stock.
