🪄 Fairy Godmother is here to make all your wishes come true! Particularly if your wishes include adopting an older lady cat with a bit of an independent streak. We love a lady who knows what she wants and what she’s about! Who doesn’t?? 🤷

🧶 With the softest fur around, you’ll never want to stop petting her. She will happily oblige too, even reminding you to keep going with some gentle head bonks. As soft as she is, she expects her blankies to match that energy. Our sweet older gal just wants to curl up on a cozy couch, with her loving human, and make a little nap nest in a cozy blanket. Sounds pretty perfect to us! 💤

👵 She would prefer a more mature home, like herself, without other animals who cause chaos around her. Fairy Godmother has lived a lot of life and she deserves some peace in her golden years. She’s a healthy and tidy girl so we suspect you’ll have plenty of those to come! ✨

🤔 Sometimes people are curious which cats are our hardest/take the longest to find homes, and spoiler alert, it’s not always the neediest ones. It’s the shy guys and gals! Hard to fall in love at first sight if you don’t see them, right? 🙈

🐾 Well, our sweet Electrode is a fake shy guy. He wants to pretend he’s nervous at first but it doesn’t take much or very long for his facade to break and he falls head over paws for you! Then all bets are off. He becomes your shadow and glues himself to your side. You’re sitting? No, WE’RE sitting. He’s not a pest and doesn’t ask for much, but he absolutely wants you close by. Day and night! 👯

🧶 Electrode is also quite a playful cat. He’s a young man, after all! He loves to play with his catnip mousies and can bird watch with the best of them. He loves all food and snacks and is really just looking for his best friend. Can’t really go wrong with him since he checks all the boxes! ✔️

🏡 We have a handful of shy cats slinking around OAR right now who would love the opportunity to blossom in a home. Give them a shot! OAR’s Adoption Center is open:

🐾 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Adoption Host! 🐾

There are few things better than watching someone meet the cat who is about to become part of their family. 💜 Our Adoption Host volunteers get to help make moments like these happen!

We are looking for a new volunteer to join our Saturday Adoption Host team from 12:00–3:00 PM!

Adoption Hosts welcome visitors into our Adoption Center, introduce them to our adoptable cats, answer questions, and help guide them through the adoption process. This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who loves cats, enjoys meeting new people, and wants to play a part in connecting our cats with loving families.

Our Adoption Center can be a busy place, especially on the weekends, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, comfortable talking with visitors, and ready to jump in and help create a welcoming experience. Volunteers must be 18+ and able to stand for extended periods.

And one of the very best parts? Getting a front-row seat to lots of happy adoption days like these! 😻🎉

👋 Happy Foster Friday and TGIF before a looooong weekend. Sign up @ ohioalleycat.org/foster and possibly have a kitty in your home next week! 🙀

💕 Some of our kitties are a little “extra” and need a little extra love and care. Whether it’s medical needs, stress, diet, or just a little time to decompress, etc. we want all of our kitties to be comfortable and safe. We take care of it all, except the space! Since they can’t always join the Adoption Center right away, they need a foster home in the meantime! We try to keep the window between intake and adoption as narrow as possible, there is no fear of being “stuck” with a kitty forever around here! (Plus, whether they’re ready or not, we’ll always take them back if it’s not a fit. No judgement here!!) 💕

🏡 While in your care, we’ll continue to advertise their availability for adoption, including posting a profile on our websites, sharing social media posts, setting up a flyer at the Adoption Center, directing potential adopters to check out your kitty, and periodically, our Offsite Adoption Coordinator will even come to your home (or you can bring them to us) to go live on camera. Check out our Meet Me Mondays! Once we get a bite (figuratively), your foster cat will be adopted directly from your home. Winning! 🏆

🍌 Miss Chiquita is a beauty queen! You’ll never get tired of admiring her unique and gorgeous features. Her beauty is certainly matched by her lovely personality as well. She is on the more shy side but who knows how she’ll do in a home once she’s comfortable. Whether she turns into a madwoman and her kitten comes out, or she stays a little more gentle and calm, you’ll have a wonderful kitty on your hands. We suspect her warm and sweet nature is here to stay either way! 🍌

🥹 A sweet and lowkey soul like herself still has some hobbies though! Snacks! Specifically Churus. Miss Chiquita will do pretty much anything for one of those. She also loves a good head bonk on her people and might even give you some licks! She’s a tidy lady and expects the same in return.. 😹

🧾 BOGO Alert! Help us keep these two sweethearts together! All of our adult cats are always 2 for 1 adoption fee, and usually you get to choose your two, but occasionally we do we have pairs that cannot be adopted without each other. Tom and T***s let us know early on that they are a package deal and who are we to argue?? They know each other best. 💸

🤎🤎 These two are the first faces you see when you pull into OAR’s parking lot and they might look like identical twins since they’re both very clearly absolutely gorgeous brown tabbies, but they are truly a dynamic duo and you’ll quickly learn to tell them apart. They both love attention, playtime, and lots and lots of love and snuggles. Oh, and bird watching! You’ll rarely find them outside of the catio. There’s just too much to do and see for these curious kitties. They’re just missing their human(s). 🎩👒

🖤🤍 You’re in the presence of a floofy queen, with the teeniest, tiniest little blep, who we simply can’t believe is still hanging around here. With iconic floof and such a lovely personality, we can only assume the kittens are stealing her thunder! At 12 years old, Stevie Licks still feels young and even plays a bit but mostly she’s just trying to relax with her soft, mature, and calming aura that is only rivaled by her incredible floofy coat. You don’t need to worry about maintenance on her gorgeous fur either, she ain’t called Stevie “Licks” for nothin’! She loves to groom and will happily take any assistance you’re willing to provide. She particularly enjoys a gentle brushing, especially when followed with plenty of chin scratches. 🎀

🏡 She is sweet, inquisitive, and just all around easy going. A purrrfect mature lady for anyone looking for a bestie. Bring her home and let the compliments flow. You’ll never get tired of hearing what a beauty you have chosen and how lovely she is! 🖤🤍
