Myers may have only arrived a week ago but we started training the second he was dropped off. Threshold manners, crate manners, calm going in , while in and coming out.
Calm in all aspects of life. We got here by being calm when talking to Myers, little verbal communication, correcting unwanted behaviors and training the wanted behaviors.

It’s simple concepts that sometimes humans can’t handle emotionally. Like if your dog is jumping don’t redirect them and give them a treat. 🤔🤪
Correct the behavior, and praise/reward when the wanted behavior is achieved. 🙌🏼😉

It’s the human’s mindset that determines the success of the dog!

Working with Birdie on duration, staying and recall off leash. We are a week into training and she is coming along nicely.

Training doesn’t have to take forever. We have heard from owners they have been working with trainers for weeks, months and even a year and the problems remained.

It doesn’t need to be that way. Be consistent, build confidence and hold your dog accountable. Learn how to say No to your dog.

Love alone does not fix a struggling dog. Dogs need clear structure and consistent boundaries to thrive. While love is easy to give, humans struggle most with rules. Providing daily consistency is what truly helps your dog succeed.

*Stop relying on love alone to solve behavioral issues.
*Ignore bad advice from trainers and people who say you just need to love the dog more.
*Focus on building clear structure and rules.
*Maintain steady consistency so your dog builds confidence and thrives.

Start recall with your pup on a short line and progress to a longer line. Get the reps in and build a solid foundation before you rush to take the leash off.
Your dog should be rock solid on leash first!
Mark the wanted behavior which means when your dog completes the command that’s when you mark the behavior. You should mark it with a “yes” or “good”, then you can give a little head pet or a piece of kibble. You want to phase the kibble out pretty quickly.

Your marker needs to be strong so your dog understands what is expected.
Give it a try!

How does your dog react to other dogs? Especially other dogs that are out of control?

We teach calm and confident behaviors. Try it. Your life with your dog will be less stressful. 🤗
