This poor girls needs all the help she can get, how someone could do this is beyond me. If you have friends and family in the brown county area please ask them to share this. Someone needs to be brought to justice for what they did to this poor dog

We’re happy to say we are hopeful canine cough is almost gone from our facility! However, we are not 100% in the clear yet, and we are still receiving a few confirmed cases.

Based on what we’re seeing, most dogs are developing symptoms around 9 days after exposure, which is why we want to be extra cautious right now.

If your pup develops canine cough and/or shows any symptoms, we ask that they stay home from daycare for at least 10 days after their LAST cough — but 2 weeks is strongly preferred. 🏡

We know keeping your pup home can be difficult, but we truly don’t want to risk starting this cycle all over again. Our goal is to get everyone healthy and keep our facility cough-free! ❤️🐶

‼️‼️‼️We are still seeing active cases of canine cough popping up, from daycare and boarding dogs‼️‼️

We know how much your pups LOVE coming to daycare, but if you notice ANY symptoms of kennel cough or respiratory illness, please keep them home. ❤️

Even if they seem happy and energetic, symptoms like coughing, hacking, gagging, sneezing, nasal discharge, or excessive throat clearing can mean they are contagious.

It is not fair to our staff to have to send a sick dog home after they’ve arrived, and it is especially not fair to the other dogs who may have been exposed and brought something home to their families.

We work incredibly hard to keep our facility clean, safe, and healthy for everyone. But we can only do so much when contagious dogs are brought into the building.

Please, when in doubt, keep them home. Give us a call and let us know what’s going on. We would much rather have your pup miss a day of daycare than have an entire building of dogs get sick. 🐶❤️

We strive to always be honest and transparent with our customers, so we wanted to let everyone know that we currently have kennel cough in the building.

At this time, we have had 3 confirmed cases. We are taking this very seriously and are continuing to follow our cleaning and sanitation protocols to help prevent the spread.

Please keep an eye out for symptoms of kennel cough, including:

🐶 Persistent or harsh coughing
🐶 Honking/gagging cough
🐶 Sneezing
🐶 Nasal discharge
🐶 Lethargy or decreased energy
🐶 Decreased appetite
🐶 Fever
🐶 Gagging or retching, especially after coughing

If your dog is showing any of these symptoms, please keep them home and contact your veterinarian. We ask that you do not bring a sick or symptomatic dog into daycare or boarding, as kennel cough can spread very easily between dogs.

We know this can be concerning, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our daycare family as healthy as possible. ❤️🐾

‼️Wanted to give everyone a heads up that there is a large tree down on Salem!
It’s around the Salem and wayside intersection, so you’ll have to take an alternate route to bring your pups to daycare today if you normally come down Salem hill 🙂

We still have power so daycare is up and running, thanks to Aunt Dawn’s generator 🥳 Unfortunately though, our internet is out so the main phone at work cannot receive calls ☎️📵

Today is a really hard day at A Dog’s Life. 💔
We said goodbye to Zepplin, 16 years young, and with his passing, we have come to the end of an era.
Zepplin was the last of the original A Dog’s Life dogs. He was here in the beginning, back when this was all just getting started. For 16 years, he was part of our family and a piece of the story that made A Dog’s Life what it is today.
If you knew Zepplin, you knew how much he loved to play ball and splash around in the pool. Those are the memories we will hold onto — watching him run, play, swim, and simply be Zepplin. 🐾❤️
It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to say goodbye to the last dog who was here from the very beginning. There is so much sadness, but also so much gratitude. Gratitude that we got 16 years with him. Gratitude for every ball he chased, every pool day, every visit, and every memory.
Zepplin wasn’t just a dog who came to A Dog’s Life. He was part of A Dog’s Life.
Run free, Zepplin. Go find the biggest ball, the best pool, and all the room in the world to run. 💔🌈🐾
You will forever be a part of our history, our hearts, and the A Dog’s Life family.
