Hi everyone! After gaining some new followers and clients I thought it may be important to re-introduce myself. I’m sure I have crossed paths with some people before, and others our paths may cross soon, but an introduction seems important. Dot’s Equine Services is a female owned, small business out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dot Daus, is a 20 year old, former Miami valley pony club member and current honorary staff with the Camargo hunt. Read about the start of DES below:
I grew up in pony club where if tack wasn’t spotless you would get a deduction off your score. So I’d sit and scrub tack with tooth brushes for hours. I didn’t mind, I found it enjoyable. After being asked to clean tack for others I started my own business in 2018 out of my parents mud room.
Slowly, I started to learn new skills. I learned how to braid my own horse and eventually clip. The same happened, people would ask me to come clip or braid their horses before Camargo Hunt events. So I started to offer professional clipping and braiding. Over the years something so small has blossomed into something I’d never imagine as possible. I’ve worked with top trainers and barns to aid in show grooming and daily barn routines. Most recently, getting my feet wet in FEI level grooming. I am so fortunate for the trust that has been placed in me and the opportunities I have worked towards to continue to grow my business.
