Healthy Hatcheries is a third generation family owned and operated poultry business. The hatchery was started in the mid 1920's by Hugh "Chick" O'Hara (a local pipe fitter) who started out by hatching just a few chicks in his basement for friends and neighbors. Healthy Hatcheries has grown to produce over 4 million chicks, ducks and game birds annually. Our success has been achieved through a comb

ination of good old fashioned hard work, attention to detail and the use of the newest hatching technologies.

If the air looks smoky where you live, make sure your chickens have plenty of fresh water, good ventilation, and a chance to stay comfortable while air quality improves.
Healthy birds usually handle short periods of smoke well, but keep an eye out for any signs of breathing difficulty.
A little extra care goes a long way until the skies clear.
