🐾 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Carla & Marley! 💙

Today, we’re celebrating two of our wonderful veterinary assistants!

✨ Meet Carla! With about eight years in the veterinary field, Carla helps care for our inpatient and hospitalized pets and keeps our inventory organized. She also holds a master’s degree in public health and serves as our OSHA coordinator, helping keep our workplace safe! Her care for animals extends beyond the clinic—she supports our rescues by fostering pets. At home, she stays busy with her son and three dogs. 🐶💕

✨ Meet Marley! She’s been in the veterinary field for about six years and is our go-to IT guru when our machines aren’t cooperating! You’ll also recognize her as a friendly face during your pet’s appointments. While Marley doesn’t have pets of her own, she opens her home and heart to foster pets. The adorable pittie pictured with her is Maggie! 🐾💗

Carla and Marley, thank you for the many ways you support our patients, rescues, and team. We appreciate everything you do!

Help us show them some love in the comments! 👏💙

🐾💙 **HAPPY VET TECH WEEK! Tech Lead Spotlight: Lauren H & Lauren W!** 🩺🐶

Today, we're celebrating two incredible ladies who help keep our clinic running smoothly! Lauren H and Lauren W are not only amazing tech leads but also hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate members of our veterinary family! 💙

✨ **Meet Lauren H!** ✨

Lauren H is our **Inpatient and Outpatient Coordinator** and also plays an important role in helping with our wellness plans! She works hard to make sure our patients receive the care they need while helping keep everything organized and running smoothly. 🩺🐾

When she's not busy at the clinic, Lauren is taking care of her very own zoo at home! Between her chickens, cats, and dogs, her love for animals doesn't stop when she clocks out! 🐔🐱🐶❤️

✨ **Meet Lauren W!** ✨

Lauren W is our **Surgery and Dental Coordinator**! She plays a huge role in keeping our surgery and dental patients cared for and helps with many of our rescue cases and patients. Her dedication, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond make such a difference to our team and the animals we care for! 🦷🩺🐾

Outside of work, Lauren loves traveling and spending time with her four-legged crew! She's kept busy by her three Frenchies and her feisty Chihuahua, Buggy! 🐶✈️💕 We're sure there's never a dull moment in her house!

💙 **To both of our Laurens:** Thank you for being such wonderful leaders! Your hard work, dedication, teamwork, and passion for veterinary medicine never go unnoticed. You both are always helping keep our clinic moving forward, and we are so lucky to have you leading and supporting our team!

We appreciate everything you do for our patients, clients, and coworkers every single day! 🐾❤️

🐾 Vet Tech Week Student Spotlight: Izzy & Mandi! 🩺💙

This week, we’re celebrating our veterinary technician students and sharing a little more about the people behind the scrubs!

✨ Meet Izzy! She’s been in the veterinary field for about four years and is one of our surgery techs. Izzy brings skill and knowledge to her role and is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed. She loves the veterinary field, and that love for animals extends to her four dogs at home—Holly, Benelli, Freya, and Reese! Outside of work and school, she enjoys outdoor activities. 🌳🐶

✨ Meet Mandi! She’s been in the veterinary field for about 10 years and has three huskies at home—Aries, Artemis, and Athena! Mandi is a hard worker who’s always willing to lend a hand when needed. We’re so grateful for her dedication and the support she gives our team. 🐾💙

We’re proud to support Izzy and Mandi as they continue their education in veterinary medicine. Thank you both for the care, compassion, and hard work you bring to Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center!

🎃🍬 **Keep the Treats for the Humans This Halloween!** 🐶👻

Halloween is full of sweet treats, but many of our favorite candies can be dangerous for our four-legged family members!

🐾 **Keep these away from your pup:**
🍫 **Chocolate** – Can be toxic to dogs, especially dark and baking chocolate.
🍬 **Sugar-free candy & gum** – Some contain **xylitol**, which can be extremely dangerous for dogs.
🍇 **Raisins** – Can cause serious kidney problems.
🍭 **Candy wrappers** – Foil, plastic, and wrappers can become choking hazards or cause intestinal blockages.
🍪 **High-fat & sugary treats** – Too much can lead to an upset stomach and other health problems.

🎃 **Halloween Tip:** Keep candy bowls, trick-or-treat bags, and kids’ candy stashes safely out of your pet’s reach.

If you think your dog has gotten into something they shouldn’t have, contact your veterinarian right away. Knowing **what they ate, how much, and when** can be very helpful.

Have a **happy, safe, and SPOOK-tacular Halloween** from all of us at **Cincinnati Vet Center!** 🐾🧡👻
