A productive morning is even better when it’s shared with a four-legged friend! 🐾

Dottie the Therapy Dog stopped by to join our all-staff meeting today, bringing plenty of smiles while everyone enjoyed donuts, fresh fruit, and great conversation.

Most importantly, the room was filled with ideas, collaboration, and the passion of an incredible team dedicated to providing compassionate care to the patients and families we serve every day. We are grateful to work alongside such caring and committed people. 💙

Time to start our regular *don’t be THAT person* posts about heat safety for pets.

❌ Don’t leave your pet in a car for any length of time. At all. For real.
❌ Don’t keep your pet outdoors - if you do anyway, you legally must provide access to fresh, cool water at all times and real shelter. Closed garages and dog houses are ovens - don’t believe us, crawl inside and find out
❌ Don’t walk your dog on asphalt when the sun is up

Let’s all be decent human beings…

✅ Keep pets indoors with you.
✅ Provide plenty of fresh, cool water at all times
✅ Exercise early or late when temps are lower

Our area is jumping up into dangerous temps and if you have an animal depending on you, it’s your job to not be terrible.

Dottie The Therapy Dog was the first ever therapy dog to visit Hospice of Central New York and the Finger Lakes today. Everyone enjoyed the visit and Dottie did a great job loving her new friends. This was just the first of many visits as Hospice begins to open up to this great service. Hospice is a wonderful and difficult job, and we know Dottie brought a smile and comfort to these wonderful people today.
