Never thought I’d say this but my biggest challenge currently…getting Maggie to eat. Yes. My girl who usually finishes her food, then checks everyone else’s bowl, is now a picky eater. 😳
Supposedly this is not too uncommon for new mommas. Before her pregnancy I had her on Volhard NDF2 mornings, kibble in evenings. During her pregnancy she moved to all Volhard of AM Porridge and PM Crumble with no issues on appetite, even during the end of her pregnancy.
Now that she has had her baby, her appetite has completely changed. What she will eat one day, she refuses the next. Majority of the time, she will not eat any milk products which eliminates the AM Porridge since you add yogurt to the mix. She seems to enjoy the Crumble the most but not always. I’ve tried NDF2, she ate it once but now refuses. Warming up her food seems to help, but again, not always the case. Mothers pudding, she ate it up the first day, refused it the next, ate it day after that, and again refused it the next. She seems to like scrambled eggs, but won’t eat them raw. I have been giving her Oxymomma postnatal vitamins and Calcium tablets daily.
If all this doesn’t sound complicated enough, regardless of what she chooses to eat that day, it requires me spoon feeding her or feeding her with my hands. I keep a daily record on what she ate, how she reacted to the food, etc. But with all that said she’s still producing milk though and baby is still steadily gaining weight. Just stressing this momma out in the process. 😩
