⚡️Energy travels down the leash. ⚡️
Before your dog reacts, they often feel you first.💜
If you step out the door nervous, tense, frustrated, rushed, or anxious, your dog can feel that energy through your body language, your breathing, and yes — through the leash. That tension tells your pup, “Something is wrong.” And when your dog doesn’t know what the threat is, they may start scanning, pulling, barking, lunging, or becoming reactive.
A walk is not just physical exercise. It is a conversation.
The leash should be a calm connection, not a tight rope full of worry. When we hold our breath, grip the leash tightly, or anticipate a reaction before it happens, our dogs often respond to that pressure. They are not being “bad.” They are reacting to the energy and information we are giving them.
Before you ask your dog to be calm, check in with yourself.
Take a breath. Relax your shoulders. Soften your hands. Walk with purpose. Lead with quiet confidence. Your dog is looking for direction, not tension.
Calm energy creates calm communication.
When you become grounded, your dog has a better chance of feeling safe, trusting your guidance, and walking with you instead of reacting to the world around them.
The walk begins before the leash goes on.
Your energy leads the way. 🐾
This is the way..
