Dogs communicate constantly through body language. Tail position, ears, posture, facial expressions, vocalizations, and even how they move can give us clues about whether they’re relaxed, excited, nervous, or uncomfortable. Learning to recognize those signals can help you better understand your dog. Questions about a behavior change? Call (619) 476-0053.

Brushing at home is an excellent habit, but it can't remove hardened tartar or fully address disease below the gumline.

A veterinary dental procedure lets the mouth be thoroughly evaluated and the teeth cleaned above and below the gumline, where periodontal disease can develop unseen.

Is your pet due for a dental evaluation? Call (619) 476-0053.

Those little treats can add up faster than you think!

Treats should complement a nutritionally balanced diet, not become a major source of daily calories. Keep portions small and remember that chews, table scraps, and training rewards all count toward your dog's daily intake.

Concerned about your pet's weight or nutrition? Call (619) 476-0053.

Their ears, eyes, whiskers, tail, posture, and vocalizations can all offer clues about how they’re feeling. Learning your cat’s normal body language can even help you notice subtle changes sooner. Dental disease can be painful long before a pet shows obvious signs of discomfort. Bad breath, red gums, difficulty chewing, dropping food, or avoiding harder foods can all signal a problem.

Regular dental exams and at-home care can help protect your pet's teeth and gums throughout their life.

Have questions about your pet's dental health? Call (619) 476-0053.

Cats are experts at finding the coziest spot in the house, and there’s actually a reason they love soaking up the sunshine. Cats naturally prefer warmer temperatures than we do, so a sunny window can be the perfect place to relax and conserve body heat. If you ever notice changes in your cat’s normal sleeping or resting habits, give us a call at (619) 476-0053.

Pets can't tell us when something feels different, and some illnesses don't cause noticeable symptoms until they've progressed.

Routine bloodwork gives your veterinarian valuable information about organ function, blood cells, blood sugar, electrolytes, and other health indicators. Establishing normal baseline values can also make future changes easier to recognize.

Ask whether early detection testing is appropriate for your pet. Call (619) 476-0053.

Dental chews can be a helpful addition to your pet's oral-care routine, but they shouldn't completely replace toothbrushing.

Regular brushing helps disrupt plaque before it hardens into tartar. For extra support, ask your veterinarian about dental products that are appropriate for your pet.

Heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, and infected pets may not show obvious symptoms early on.

The good news is that heartworm disease is preventable. Staying consistent with veterinarian-recommended prevention and testing gives your pet important protection against this mosquito-borne disease.

Have questions about heartworm testing or prevention? Call (619) 476-0053.
