I’m fostering a great, year old Malinois , for Woof Project Rescue. His name is Moby, and he’s listed on their website. He’s a medium drive dog, and will settle in the house nicely as long as he’s had some exercise. Like many Malinois, he doesn’t do well with cats or other small animals. He plays a bit rough, but loves to play with other doggie friends. I currently have him in an Obedience class at the Obedience Training Club of Chugiak — there are a couple photos of him on their website also. He’s full of life and ready to do whatever his people ask of him ❤️

Well there’s been lots of goings on lately — early in November I brought home a new Widdershins Farm Collie puppy — meet Widdershins Wyld Northern Badger. His breeder, Merry Smircich Cearley, and I co-own him. He’ll help provide healthy genes for future generations of Farm Collies in the Widdershins lines.
Then 10 days ago I said goodbye to my soulmate, Wildwynds Apache Thunder CGC, CD, RX, Hst-sheep,RATN, lord of the manor, chief of fun police, who was actually a heavily disguised marshmallow. He was previously known as Thunderchief du Baiser de Oregaux, having been born in France, and rescued by the AK Herding Group Club at two and a half years old. He was my heart dog for 14+ years until his body just couldn’t keep going😢. He made it to 16 and a half and I couldn’t really ask for anymore.
Apache left this world on Monday morning at about 8:25 am and on Friday morning at 8:29 am we lived through a 7.0 earthquake — all in one piece (with lingering ptsd, however). All my family made it through okay, and all the animals too.
Don’t put off telling the ones you love how much they mean to you. Happy Holidays🎄

Stormy and I helped with Alyeska Canine Trainers agility demo at Bark in the Park last Sunday. There were only 5 dogs entered in the frisbee competition so we did that too 😁

Here’s Denali and Midori playing in the backyard the night before last. Sorry about taking it through the sliding glass door that’s covered with paw prints and slobber😖

We’ve added a new family member from Animal Control. Meet Denali, an 19 month old Malinois, who actually was previously owned by the family of one of my students. Didn’t know until she met me at the door on Monday and said,”Ms. Tompkins you have our dog!” Very even tempered boy, just needs to burn off some energy!! He’s in love with my son’s very reactive Great Dane — he immediately got her playing with him😍

Was soooooo thrilled to win the digital portrait through Dawg Boss!!!
Mythical Pallette did an excellent job of Apache don’t you think?
