Hey there Students! 🥰

It's time for a summer, student competition at Midnight Stars Stables!

This competition will be in two parts and focus on both your groundwork/in-hand skills AND your riding skills!

The first part will be the 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣 -
An in-hand pattern to show off the communication, teamwork, and precision between you and the horse you are working with (see pattern below).

The second part will be the 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣 -
A riding pattern to evaluate your posture, precision, quietness and ability to effectively communicate with the horse you are riding (see pattern below).

Just like our previous competitions - You will have one lesson to help you learn/practice the course, then the second lesson will be focused on completing the course 3 times, with each time recorded, and the opportunity to pick your best of the 3 runs for submission to our judge.

We will have two different divisions this time:
Adult Division (ages 18 and up)
Junior Division (ages 17 and below)

It's time to put on your game face and compete with your fellow students for the opportunity to win a ribbon for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, as well as a special/grand prize for 1st place (prizes and ribbons will be awarded for each division separately). 🥇🥈🥉🏆

Scores will be calculated on ex*****on and proper communication with your equine partner. Time completion will only be used as s tie-breaker. You can select from any of the lesson horses as your partner. 😍

Hey Awesome Students! 😍

A new face will be at the stables for a little while! 🧡🐴
This handsome boy will be a wild one for a bit, as I work on helping him feel more comfortable with people and domestic life, so don't be surprised if he shys away from you if you venture over towards the round pen (where he will be staying for the beginning of his training journey).

Once he's feeling more comfortable, I'll let you all know and encourage everyone to interact with him (in safe ways) so we can let him know just how AWESOME horse-loving humans can be!

Hey there Students! 🩷🐴
The scheduler for June and July is now open. (July will open further as we get closer to May, since this scheduler only opens lesson slots 3 months out.)

You'll notice some changes for the Summer schedule - No Saturday/Sunday lesson options. Due to other clinic opportunities at the farm, offsite horse shows, and general summer travel, most of these weekends are booked up, so instead (and since school will be out for the Summer) you'll see morning lessons and evening lessons throughout the week. This is also to accommodate the HEAT ☀️ in the middle of the day during those months.

The schedule will update/change again in August, when school starts back, so that our youth students can still book their lessons. 🙂

If you or anyone you know is ready to take the next step in your horse journey (but not yet ready to fully own your own horse), here is an amazing opportunity for you! Kimberly at Fancy Forest Farm has wonderfully trained trail horses and a beautiful property to enjoy with them! Also, lots of amazing people at her farm to get to know and spend time/ride with. 🩷

Here’s a great opportunity for anyone wanting to trail ride regularly & your horse is too old or you are out of practice. Come join us-onsite leases only. This beautiful paint boy pictured below with me is available for lease along with 5 others. I’ll post details of all the lease horses available next week ❤️

Sunday FUNday at the farm! The beautiful weather provided a busy and super fun day of learning for everyone - both students and horses!

Special thank you to, Anna, for helping me teach lessons. Anna isn’t a full time teacher here, but when she does have the time/opportunity to share her horse and riding knowledge, she does it amazingly (and with a lot of FUN too)! If you get the chance to learn from her you’ll love it! ❤️🐴
