Update: We received quite a few applications for the rats! Hopefully these guys will be in a home soon!

🐀 Roscuro and Lester need our help! 🐀

Over the past few months, we took in approximately 12 rats from one home. We’ve been fortunate to find homes for several of them and transfer others to our rescue partners…but Roscuro and Lester are still waiting.

These sweet boys are around three years old, which means they are entering the final chapter of their lives. We would love to find them a compassionate foster/hospice home or a permanent family where they can spend their remaining time feeling safe, comfortable, and loved.

If you can open your home and heart to Roscuro and Lester, please reach out to us! We would love for these two deserving seniors to experience the comfort of a home again. 💕

Mikey heard “Paws & Pints at Leinie’s,” and now he’s begging to go! 🐾🍻

Mikey was recently adopted but returned due to changes in his family’s household. He is up to date on his vaccinations and just needs one final vet check before he’ll be ready to find his new home!

Yesterday was National Dog Day, and of course, we had to celebrate! 🐶🎉

All of our shelter pups enjoyed a delicious pup cup…complete with lots of happy faces, whipped cream covered noses, and wagging tails!

‼️ WISHLIST WEDNESDAY ‼️

Management has received several formal complaints from our kittens regarding the current wet food situation. 😾

According to the complaints, wet food portions have been rationed because our supply is running very low…and the kittens have made it clear that this is completely unacceptable!

To resolve the matter and restore peace at the shelter, this week’s biggest wish is pâté-style wet cat food in non-seafood flavors. Any brand or can size would be greatly appreciated!

Please help us address these complaints before the kittens escalate the issue any further…staff are starting to get scared.

Please review an important announcement regarding the findings of a recent inspection and investigation conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). We believe it is important to share with our supporters what has happened at CHA, and the steps we are taking to address the concerns identified by DATCP, including improving temperature control for our animals.

Above all, our goal remains the same: providing compassionate care, shelter, and advocacy for animals in Chippewa County and beyond.
