‼️ Wishlist Wednesday ‼️

Today was a big intake day for our shelter, we took in 24 cats.

We assisted a nearby police dept with the removal of 20 cats from a hoarding/neglect situation inside a camper. The remaining cats were strays.

Among the hoarding case cats were:
🐾 11 kittens suffering from severe upper respiratory infections
🐾 One kitten who will more than likely require eye removal surgery due to a severe ulcer
🐾 1 very pregnant cat and 4 cats who may also be pregnant

The stray intakes were all kittens, and thankfully they appear healthy.

Our biggest need right now is:

🥫 Canned pate cat food (NO seafood flavors)

Kitten season is here, and shelters and rescues everywhere are feeling the strain. Even donating a few cans can make a huge difference for the cats and kittens in our care.

✨Shelter Spotlight: Toby & Mabel ✨

Meet two of our wonderful long-term residents who are hoping their forever families are just around the corner.

🐱 Toby is a 4-year-old neutered male who came to us as a transfer from another shelter. Toby is one of our longest residents, partly because he spent time recovering from a chronic upper respiratory infection, which has since cleared up!

Toby takes time to adjust to new people and environments. He isn’t a fan of hands reaching into his kennel and will often move away when he’s feeling nervous. But when given patience and space, Toby slowly begins to show his true personality.
During his time in foster care, Toby blossomed and became much more comfortable in a home environment. Unfortunately, his foster family wasn’t able to keep him long-term, so he is back at the shelter waiting for his second chance. Toby gets along well with other cats and may benefit from having a feline friend in his new home, though it isn’t required.

🐶 Mabel is an 8-year-old spayed female who came to us as a stray. She’s a polite lady who appears to be house trained and enjoys the company of calm, respectful dogs. In playgroups, Mabel does best with dogs who give her space and aren’t overly energetic.

After spending time in the shelter, Mabel has started showing signs of kennel stress, including barking more than usual and having a decreased appetite. We’re giving her extra enrichment, walks, and love…but what Mabel truly needs is a home of her own.

‼️ Weekly Wishlist ‼️

We’re a little late with this week’s wishlist because we’ve been busy preparing for some very special arrivals!

This week, we welcomed a transfer of 13 dogs into our care…most of them puppies! 🐶💕 With all those growing pups, plus the kittens and small animals currently at the shelter, we’re hoping to stock up on some much-needed supplies.
