Not every dog should be bred, and that’s okay.

When we planned our June 7 Taro × Gabby litter, the pairing was never just about having puppies. Responsible breeding means health testing, thoughtful pairing, and making decisions based on the dogs in front of you.

It also means screening the homes our puppies go to and being honest that breeding isn’t for every dog — or every owner.

Enrichment doesn't have to mean buying a cabinet full of expensive toys. This ASPCA guide has some genuinely simple ideas using things most people already have around the house such as muffin tins, cardboard, old towels and the likes - that can turn into real mental workouts for a dog. Good one to bookmark for a slow weekend.

The key to a happy and healthy dog is regular enrichment and allowing them to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally and mentally satisfied.
