A super fun "first show of the season" for three of my students. I am incredibly proud of them and their horses, as their hard work is paying off. The weather at Bainbridge Island Saddle Club was perfect today. I took too many pictures to get through, but here are some of my quick favorites. This was a fun, low-key hunter/Jumper schooling show. Although these three riders primarily identify as dressage and main ring performance riders, they performed exceptionally well.

Are you signed up for Year End Awards for the Horse Show Division?

Reminder for All Other Breeds Classes and Year End Awards!

If your horse as multiple papers, you must provide copies of each.

Example: if you have Paint & Pinto papers, sign up for Paint & Pinto Year End Awards.

If the horse show does not offer Paint & Pinto classes, enter the ALL OTHER BREEDS class and designate on your entry if your points are for PAINT or PINTO. This way our phenomenal points keeper can put them in the appropriate class.

If your horse does not have any registration papers, sign up for Year End Awards in All Other Breeds and show those classes!

You cannot sign up for All Other Breeds Year End Awards unless your horse has a set of papers for a breed that is not recognized as a primary breed or offered at Washington State Horsemen.

Example: American Blazer, Gypsy Vanner, Saddlebred.

The birthday roll call is wrapped up for the 2026 intros!

Honorable mentions continue with Goose & Maverick! This pair of Nubian goats are brothers, and we have no idea how old they are! Goose & Maverick moved to Bay Acres with us, so have been part of the family for about 10 years! These guys are (now) a joy to have around 😆 and have been keeping my older geldings company.

BC Night Melody 5/26/1992 - 1/14/2026 💔

This sucks.

Melody was one of the boarders that was already on site when we purchased the farm in 2017. Her owners moved away and Melody was fully in my care. This amazing mare has taught countless kids how to ride, and been a first horse for many.

She was undeniably herself, but also perfect in every way.

Yesterday was hard. But her owner and I ultimately made the right decision. She will be missed by so many. One of the cornerstones of Bay Acres. We all loved her to pieces. Rest easy pretty girl.
