We are now registering for our next basic obedience class. It is scheduled to start Saturday October 3rd at 11:00am. Our group classes are the perfect way to get the training you and your dog need, while your dog also benefits from socialization and learning to listen even with the distractions of other dogs and people. All done on leash in a controlled training environment.
Covers: Sit, Down, Come, Stay, Heel, Place, Name Training, Manners Greeting, Socialization, Jumping/Nipping, Leave It/Drop It, Release/Okay, House training techniques.
Will also prepare you for the AKC Star Puppy or AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
* Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
* Dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations
****The cost of the class is $165
Our group classes are NOT a good fit for:
Dogs who are not socialized or comfortable around other dogs.
Fearful or anxious dogs who do not handle new or strange environments well.
Dogs with significant behavioral issues like resource guarding, leash-reactivity, or aggression.
Owners with specific issues or those who have unique training goals.

What is AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
Certification?
The AKC Canine Good Citizen(CGC) is a nationally recognized certification that shows your dog has the skills to be a polite, well-mannered member of the community.
The CGC test focuses on 10 everyday skills, including:
1. Accepting a friendly stranger
2. Sitting politely for petting
3. Appearance and grooming
4. Out for a walk
5. Walking through a crowd
6. Sit and down on cue/Staying in place
7. Coming when called
8. Reaction to another dog
9. Reaction to distraction
10. Supervised separation
A great foundation for therapy work, advanced training, or simply a well-behaved companion. Whether your goal is better manners, more confidence, or earning that official certification, CGC is an amazing milestone for dogs of all ages.
We will be holding testing for the Canine Good Citizen on Monday August 17th at 6:30pm. Testing fee is $25.
