I know I’m very late posting this, but we had a wonderful and very busy week at the Butler Farm Show. Both kids got to show goats this year since Amelia is old enough to be in 4H now. Tons of fun, tons of hard work and lots of late nights and early mornings.
The main highlights of the goat show were
Alexandria & Amelia placing 1st in showmanship in their age groups,
Ivy Acres A Flame 2*M Grand Champion, Best Udder of breed, Best Senior Doe in show (4H)
Ivy Acres P Trixie Grand Champion Jr
Ivy Acres AZ Black Raspberry Reserve Champion Jr
Amelia also showed her wether in the beginner cart class and was able to keep her cool thanks to her awesome 4H leaders help
Obstacle class was so exciting this year and the competition was fierce. Amelia ended up winning Reserve Champion overall in the obstacle with a first run time of 22 seconds and second run time of 18 seconds.

This is one of the busiest times of year so I unfortunately have not had time to post all of the excitement happening around the farm lately. Last weekend we attended the Laurel Highlands Dairy goat show. Amelia was 3rd place in junior showmanship. Alexandria was 2nd place intermediate showmanship and 3rd place overall (1st and 2nd place of each class went back in the ring). Alexandria’s yearling Ivy Acres AZ Black Raspberry was first place yearling and Grand Champion in ring one.
On Sunday we went to the Summit County Fair in Ohio. Ivy Acres HB Crystal was first place 3-5 year old and Reserve Champion Sr doe. It was a great weekend with great friends.

We had a great time at the NEODGA show over the weekend. Amelia has really blossomed this year in her handling of the goats in the ring. She was first place in her showmanship class.
Amelia showed Ivy Acres A Carmella and she ended up getting reserve champion in Ring 1. She was overjoyed!
What makes this even more exciting is that Carmella is currently on an extended lactation. She last kidded March of 2025!

We had a wonderful time at the WPDGA show. Unfortunately I didn’t get many pictures. One of the most exciting things to watch was Amelia in her showmanship class. She has improved so much over the last year and was first place in the novice class of 6-9 y/o.
Ring 1 was the ANDDA specialty show. Our two junior yearling bucks were Grand and Reserve junior buck.
Ivy Acres TB Klondike was grand champion and Ivy Acres TB Octavian was reserve.
Ivy Acres Z King Tut was reserve champion buck in ring 1.
In ring two, Goats Hill HS PeterParkr was grand champion, winning his first champion leg.
I didn’t write down all the senior placings, but Ivy Acres Z Chantilly Lace was 3rd place in ring 1. We did get first place dairy herd, but we were the only entry.
I missed most of Ring 2 placings. In the junior show, Ivy Acres AZ Black Raspberry was reserve champion junior doe.
