Sherlock found his forever home! 🎉🏡🐶

This 1-year-old Chihuahua mix may only weigh 7lbs, but he brought a huge personality with him everywhere he went. With his adorable brown and tan coat, happy spirit, and love for people, Sherlock stole plenty of hearts along the way. 💛

He was friendly, outgoing, cuddly, and always ready to show off his impressive skills including “sit,” “spin,” “down,” “paw,” and “wait.” Add in his love for treats and eagerness to please, and it’s no surprise this sweet little guy got adopted! 🦴✨

We’re so excited for Sherlock as he starts this new chapter with his forever family. Cheers to a lifetime of lap cuddles, fun adventures, and all the love he deserves. 🐾❤️

🐶🐱Please join us on Saturday, June 6th for the 3rd annual California Adopt-A-Pet day, made possible by CalAnimals, the San Francisco SPCA, and the ASPCA. With extended hours from 11am-4pm, all of our adoption fees are WAIVED!

Your new best friend is waiting to meet you at Butte Humane Society! Adoption not only gives one animal a loving home — it frees up space and resources, allowing us to help even more animals in need. Adopting a pet at our event saves the lives of countless others.

Let us help you prepare for your adoption on June 6th!

1. We recommend arriving early, doors open at 11am and there is typically a line.

2. Save time the day of and fill out an adoption application online ahead of time, even if you don’t know who you want to adopt. Applications are available at buttehumane.org

3. Bring a valid photo ID

4. Planning to adopt a dog? Bring a leash and collar, or purchase one in our shop. If you already have a dog at home, please bring them so we can help facilitate introductions with your potential adoptee. Bringing another adult who can help handle your owned dog streamlines this process tremendously!

5. Planning to adopt a cat? Bring a cat carrier or purchase one in our shop.

6. All adoptions take place on a first come, first served basis and all standard adoption procedures apply. We will not be able to hold any animals for adoptions at a later date.

7. Adoption fees are waived for the day, but our work never ends. Consider making a donation to help other animals get their second chance at Butte Humane Society.

We are proud to be one of 146 organizations across the state participating in this exciting event!

We are in urgent need of cat litter donations. If you can donate, please bring donations by the shelter anytime from 8:30am-4pm Monday-Friday, and from 12pm-4pm on weekends. Thank you! 🐱❤️

Callie is adopted and we could not be happier! 🎉🏡💛

This sweet senior girl officially found her forever home, and we are celebrating every second of it. At 11 years young, Callie won everyone over with her gentle heart, calm spirit, and adorable playful side. 🐾✨

She loved the simple things like sunny naps, easy walks, and being close to her people. Even after going through big changes, Callie stayed loving, trusting, and full of grace. ❤️

She was wonderful with kids, had done well with cats, and enjoyed other dogs with proper introductions. Truly an all-around sweetheart. Now she gets the cozy home, soft bed, and loving family she has always deserved. 🌸🐶

Happy tails, Callie! We are so excited for this next chapter filled with cuddles, comfort, and lots of love. 💕

This goofy girl stole hearts everywhere she went, and now she finally has a forever home to call her own. From puppy zoomies to sleepy snuggles, Pretzel is officially living the life she deserves. 🐾

Join us for a fun-filled morning at Butte Humane Society! 🎨🐾☀️

Stop by our Education Center on Wednesday, June 3rd from 10 AM – 12 PM for arts & crafts, time with some of our adorable adoptable dogs, and refreshing drinks available for purchase from 🥤🐶

This community event will take place on the first Wednesday of each month through August, so there are plenty of chances to join the fun, get creative, and spend time with some furry friends. ✨
