🐾 Adding toys to the whelping box adds novelty and texture and challenge for the developing brains.

🐾 From just outside the whelping box I bring you the number TWO.

🐾. It has been TWO weeks since the arrival of the
And, each and every pup has passed the TWO pound mark. A couple flew right by TWO.

🐾 Note mom’s leg. This has become her go to position because it is getting hard to fit TWO pounds x 9 at the food banks 😂😂

🐾 Eyes are beginning to open. I’ll get pictures of this cuteness later today.

🐾 Sound on? Video 2. Mom finally lays down. And I’m always impressed that she finds the space to lay down without laying on top of her puppies. Oakley is that kind of good mom!

🐾 Noses pick up the scent. They will smell their way to the food.
It is fun to watch the process.

🐾 This is the morning progression from the whelping box. Day 12.

🐾 Mom steps back in and begins cleaning up because the puppies are now peeing and pooping on their own.

🐾 Puppies eyes and ears are still (mostly) closed so they rely on their nose to find mom. They can SMELL food is nearby!

🐾 Hamilton, so named in this after one of the founding fathers of our 250 year old nation.

🐾 Litter themes add a touch of fun to each and every puppy. The names we give the are temporary. Their new families get to call them whatever they want. A few decided to make the name permanent. (Shout out to Stitch and Bella and Murphy*)

🐾 in roughly 10 minutes (maybe less) all are now sleeping EXCEPT Hamilton! Also, typical 😂😂
