We're excited to share some great news!
With Dr. Taylor Traxler joining the Riverwood Veterinary Hospital team, we now have expanded appointment availability Monday through Thursday for wellness exams, sick visits, vaccinations, dental care, and other medical needs.
We're also pleased to announce that we are no longer closed for lunch from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. During this time, our front desk team remains available to answer your calls, schedule appointments, assist with medication and prescription food pick-ups.
Our expanded schedule allows us to offer more convenient appointment times for your pet's healthcare needs.
If you'd like to schedule an appointment with either of our wonderful doctors, simply give us a call at (530) 342-0725. Our friendly team will be happy to help you find a convenient appointment time that works for you.

Riverwood Veterinary Hospital was featured on Action News Now today after our Japanese maple tree was targeted by thieves for the second time!

We’re so thankful to Action News Now for helping us bring awareness to landscaping theft and share our story with the Chico community. ❤️

We hope sharing our experience encourages other local businesses and homeowners to take extra precautions to protect their trees, plants, and landscaping.

Around 1:00 AM this morning, two males attempted to steal our Japanese maple tree in front of our building. Sadly, this is the second time this has happened.
The first time was July 21, 2024, and they successfully stole our tree. After that, we secured our new Japanese maple by locking it down. It's unfortunate that we had to take those extra measures, but thankfully it worked this time and they left empty-handed.
We're sharing our security video to make others aware. If you have a Japanese maple or other valuable landscaping, please consider taking extra precautions. We never imagined someone would try to steal a tree—let alone twice.
Please help spread the word and keep an eye out. If anyone recognizes these individuals or has information, please let us know. The first clip (longer one) is the incident from this morning. The other photo/ short clip are from the first incident in July,2024

📸 The reality behind the perfect photo... 😂

Expectation: 📷 Everyone smiling at the camera.

Reality: One person blinks, one starts laughing, the dog steals the spotlight, and someone is looking everywhere except the camera. 🐶🤣

Needless to say, it took a few tries—but we had a lot of fun along the way! We think the bloopers might be even better than the final photo.
