Wishlist Wednesday - Foster Homes Needed!

If we could put just one thing on our Wishlist Wednesday list today, it would be more foster homes.

Every single day, our inbox fills with messages from people begging for help, from sick cats, stray kittens, friendly cats abandoned outside, cats living in dangerous situations with nowhere else to turn.

And far too often, we have to say something we never want to say, "We're sorry, but we don't have anywhere for them to go, we don't have any foster homes available."

As a 100% foster-based rescue, we don't have a shelter building or facility. Every cat and kitten we save goes directly into a foster home. That means our ability to help is completely dependent on having people willing to open their homes and hearts.

The heartbreaking reality is that we receive more pleas for help than we can count, but we cannot bring in cats if we don't have foster homes available. It doesn't matter how desperately they need us, we simply have nowhere to put them.

The cats on our waiting lists, the kittens born outside, the friendly stray who keeps showing up on someone's porch, the injured cat someone found on the side of the road, their futures often depend on whether a foster home steps forward.

Fostering truly saves lives, it gives cats a safe place to land while they wait for their forever families, and it allows us to continue saying "yes" when help is needed most.

We may be a small organization, but when we come together we do big things. And with more foster homes, we could do so much more.

So please consider becoming a foster for our small organzation and start changing lives for the better by filling out a foster interest form today. The next life we save could be because of you.

Thank you to all our foster parents, volunteers, and to all the people who showed up to meet some of our adoptable cats yesterday. We had over 500 people show up with a non stop, never ending line waiting out the door. It was amazing. The cats are still tuckered out and to be honest so are we.

It’s Feral Friday!

We want to hear about the stray or feral cats that have touched your heart. Tell us a story in the comments about a cat you’ve helped and how you helped them, whether it was feeding them, earning their trust, getting them TNR'd, bringing them inside, finding them a home, or simply showing them kindness when no one else would.

You can also share a photo of them with us!

Here’s a young newbie feral boy who recently started coming around. We’re still learning his schedule and figuring out what time he regularly visits so we can make a plan to snip, chip, and vet him. 🐈‍⬛ But for now, we are bulking him up.

Only took a decade, but Peanutbutter finally let me pet him. You can see him trying to figure it out in real time.. confused, curious, and kind of loving it.

Not only is it Hump Day, it’s also Saturday Update Day, and I get to share some really good news about our girl.

Last Thursday, I took Saturday in for her one‑week checkup, and her bloodwork came back fantastic. Every single one of her liver numbers is now normal!!!!!!! Her appetite has been growing every day, her energy is coming back, and I haven’t had to use her feeding tube since last week because she’s been eating on her own (with the exception of giving her medicine in it for convenience). At her two‑week appointment today, we were able to remove the e‑tube completely.

She’s also gained a little bit over a full pound since the day we rescued her. She came in at 6 lbs 2 oz, and today she’s 7 lbs 5 oz. She’s still getting her mini‑meals throughout the day and night, but watching her slowly come back to life has been incredible.

This is the same girl who couldn’t even meow when we first got her. Now she’s a little wiggly butt, playing with springs, chatting with me, and showing more personality every day. Her jaundice has improved so much, and we know she’ll get to 100% with time. Slow and steady really does win the race.

And yes, she’s still burrito‑ing herself into her blankies like the little comfort‑seeker she is. I’m completely smitten.

Now that she’s finally on the upswing, we’re starting to look for a calm foster home for her, someone who can keep up with her feeding routine, give her a quiet space to continue healing, and who doesn’t mind handing out all the pets, head scritches, and belly rubs this girl absolutely lives for. She deserves someone who will spoil her with the same gentleness she’s been showing us.

If you’re interested in fostering Saturday, please send a foster inquiry. Thank you again for all of the support.

Everyone rushes to save the fluffy cream kitten with blue eyes. Everyone shares the pretty cat.Everyone comments how beautiful they are.

But meanwhile, that black & white cat outside begging for help on the street, that brown tabby who’s been surviving outside for months hoping someone will notice them, they’re ignored. Passed by. Left behind.

It’s honestly infuriating how much appearance affects who gets helped and who doesn’t. The cats that are considered cute, fluffy, or aesthetically appealing get the attention, the help on the street, the offers for foster, the shares, the applications, and the donations. Meanwhile, the average looking cats are suffering just as much, loving just as deeply, and waiting just as desperately for someone to care.

Cats don’t deserve love, safety, or rescue based on their color, breed, or aesthetics. The plain looking cats, the older cats, the black & white cats, and the shy tabbies deserve help too.

Some of the most incredible, affectionate, grateful cats we’ve ever met are the ones nobody stopped for at first glance.

How would you feel if you were the one everyone walked past? How would it feel to be the one waiting, hoping someone chooses you and watching them choose every other face instead?

Stop it.

FOUND A CAT? Here’s the rule of thumb, If the cat is FRIENDLY, SECURE & SCAN.

Please do not assume a friendly cat outside belongs there or will magically find their way home. Outdoor life is dangerous, and many friendly cats outside are lost, abandoned, dumped, escaped, or displaced.

And no, being ear-tipped does NOT automatically mean the cat should stay outside. We adopt out ear-tipped cats all the time. Ear-tipped simply means the cat was altered at some point.

What you SHOULD do if you find a friendly cat:

- Safely bring the cat inside if possible. Keep them separated from your pets until they can be checked over.

- Get the cat scanned for a microchip ASAP. Any vet clinic, many rescues, and shelters can, even police stations can scan for free.

- Post everywhere, neighborhood Facebook groups, Lost & Found pet pages, PawBoost, Nextdoor, hang flyers in the area

-Take clear photos and document where the cat was found.

- If the cat is injured, skinny, sick, dehydrated, or unaltered, seek help immediately.

And yes, some cats are genuinely feral and do not want human interaction. But if a cat is approachable, social, crying at doors, following people, trying to come inside, or seeking attention, looks stressed and dirty, PLEASE take that seriously.

Too many cats never make it back home because people assumed they were just outdoor or indoor/outdoor cats.

When in doub, secure first, scan for a chip, then search for an owner.

First, I want to thank everyone who graciously donated towards Saturday’s medical care thus far and shared her story. We are so incredibly appreciative of the help, support, and love you’ve shown her. ❤️

I'm happy to give an update that she is starting to feel better. I’ve been giving her round-the-clock care as she’s currently on a very strict feeding tube regimen, along with multiple antibiotics and supplements.

Last night, I finally started to see some s***k return to her little body. She was walking around, coming out of her blanket burrito demanding pets and affection, and slowly starting to have some energy again. Seeing those little moments of life and comfort return has meant everything to us. Even if it's just for a minute or two.

These baby steps are actually HUGE strides and give us exactly the hope we were praying to see for her survival. We’ve fallen so deeply in love with this sweet girl. And did I mention, she absolutely LOVES burritoing herself in blankets. It’s honestly the cutest thing ever.

We’ll be heading back to the vet within the next few days for a follow-up appointment to go over the progress she’s made this past week and to do any additional testing needed to make sure she’s continuing on the right track.

Thank you again for being her biggest champions, and ours. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

If you haven’t made a donation yet, please consider helping. Right now, her food alone costs us about $4.00 per can, and her ongoing medical care continues to add up. Every single donation, share, and kind word helps more than you know. ❤️

Yesterday, we saved this sweet girl who was locked in an abandoned CHA housing building for 2 weeks starving to death. A neighbor in our community said she was a stray she was feeding and she went missing and heard her cries/meows coming from the building. We suspect that went the contractors went out to board up the doors etc, they didn't do a sweep and locked her in. Apparently, animal control went out and said there was no signs of a cat, but I didn't trust that. So I went out yesterday myself and met with contractors and within a minute of entering the building we found the cat.

We have named her Saturday. Unfortunately, Saturday is in horrible shape and has some of the worst fatty liver disease that we have ever seen due to the starvation. She is skin and bones, severely anemic and jaundice. She has a long road ahead of her and we want to do what we can to help her to survive. Our vet bill today alone for her is $2000 and she is going to need so much help. The amount alone for her vetting today killed our bank account and we are no where near done yet.

She currently is about to be sedated to have a feeding tube put in and will be on a strict liquid diet in hopes that we can save her life.

I am asking all of you to PLEASE make a donation of ANY amount to help us/her. Our donations have been null, but we couldn't let her die. Please, please, please make a Donation.

We will also be looking for a special care foster for her too to help her along on her journey.

Thank you so much! Please send healing thoughts.
