He didn’t make it to Friday. My heart is shattered into a million pieces. It feels like all of the joy has gone out of my life and I’m just…lost right now.
Even with the pain, I am still filled with gratitude. Every single night, for the past eleven and a half years, I have thanked G-d for the gift of Grover in my life. I am grateful to my friend, Jason, for getting Grover with me and loving him so much. I am thankful to the veterinarians who have treated him, including the team that helped him transition.
I am most grateful to my boy, my baby, my heart. You were patient with me, forgiving, loving. You were the best cuddle buddy, road trip companion, and taste-tester/dropped food picker-upper. I will be forever changed by loving you and being loved by you. My best friend, thank you so much for giving me the tremendous honor of being your dad. Grover, I will love you always.

Dad wanted pictures of me, sitting in front of the fireplace in my costume. Happy Howloween!

I believe somepuppy was warned that chewing on his bandages would come with consequences. Now enter the cone of shame.

There should always be cake and ice cream for a good birthday boy. (Picture two is him thinking that, if he moves slowly enough, I won’t notice him inching toward the cake.)
