📝Dog Training Services Explained

If you’re training your dog or figuring out what comes next, here’s a quick breakdown of your options!

🐶Private Sessions🐶
We train you how to train your dog. Best for owners who want to learn the craft and keep building their dog long after the program ends. We cover everything in detail. But at the end of the day, the dog learns based on your competency.

🏆Board and Train🏆
We take your dog, train your dog, and then teach you how to use that training — at home, in the park, wherever it matters. Our job is to build the skills so you can have a successful life together outside of the program. Works best with true professionals. But like everything else, you have to maintain it at home.

🦮Day Training🦮
We train your dog during the day. You pick up in the evening and continue the work. Weekly classes and plenty of content keep you on track. Works well if you can follow instructions and don’t cave to the puppy eyes at home.

🐕Group Classes🐕
Speed training in a social setting. Great for dogs that already have a foundation. It gets complicated with limited results if you’re starting from scratch, unless you’re a skilled handler. Sometimes you spend a lot of time in groups and don’t see the results. But with consistency, you can definitely improve behavior.

Every program works. It comes down to how much effort you put in and who’s handling the leash.

Happy 4th from the Found and Pup Start Team!

The team is on-site this 4th of July, making sure every dog in our care is safe and comfortable!
Our facility is closed to the public tomorrow, but we wanted to share a few reminders for keeping your dog safe during the fireworks.

1️⃣Keep them inside. More dogs go missing on the 4th than any other day of the year. Even the most confident dog can spook and bolt.

2️⃣Create a calm space. Music, white noise, a familiar room with closed blinds. Give them somewhere to decompress away from the chaos.

3️⃣ID and microchip. Double check that collar tags are current and your chip info is up to date. If something goes wrong, that’s your safety net.

4️⃣Leave them at home. Crowds, loud noises, grills, and strangers aren’t a good mix for most dogs. If you’re celebrating, let your dog sit this one out in a quiet spot at home.

Happy 4th stay safe!

5 Reasons Your Trainer Needs to Own a Dog (and have experience helping yours):

1. They understand the 24/7 reality.
Training isn’t just what happens in sessions. A trainer who owns a dog knows the morning chaos, the regressions after a vet visit, the 3am potty runs. They’ve lived it.

2. They’ve made the same mistakes you’re making.
Every dog owner screws something up. A trainer who’s been there isn’t judging you - they’re coaching you through what they already figured out the hard way.

3. They know what “good enough” actually looks like.
A lot of trainers teach theory. A trainer with their own dog knows the difference between a perfectly-trained competition dog and a well-behaved family pet. They can calibrate advice to YOUR goals.

4. They’ve felt the emotional weight of it.
Frustration, guilt, doubt - owning a dog brings all of it. A trainer who’s owned dogs gets what you’re feeling and won’t dismiss the mental side of the process.

5. They can troubleshoot the real-world stuff.
Management around guests, travel, multi-dog households - a trainer who’s navigated this in their own life will give you practical solutions, not textbook answers.

Experience is everything in this industry 👏👏
