Our 3-Day Evaluation is long and slow - and that’s intentional. Why take the time to do it like this?

NEW ENVIRONMENTS ARE SCARY
Dogs need time to get to know our facility and our staff to help them feel comfortable. The entire first day they don’t interact directly with another dog, only us and the space.

WE RUN A QUIET KENNEL
Dogs vibe off each other so even dogs who bark a lot at home have time to acclimate to our structure. We need the ability to address issues early without a dog continuing to hype itself up.

NOT ALL DOGS ARE SOCIAL IN ALL SETTINGS
Your home is different than the park which is different than the sidewalk which is different from our building. Going slow with dog-to-dog introductions allows us time to look for discomfort or reactivity.

SOCIAL DOESN’T MEAN SOCIAL WITH EVERYONE
Do you like everyone you meet? No? Then why do you expect your dog to? Making friends can take time. We never force dogs into groups because that’s when fights happen.

WE HAVE SMALL PLAYGROUPS
This is not your typical 50-dog setting. Groups never exceed 15 dogs and we tailor them by personality type or play style. Doing so means we know our dogs well and we can learn a lot during the slower Evaluation.

As the only structured kennel around, we take a lot of pride in offering dog daycare to super social pups as well as those who might need more time to acclimate. We even specialize in anti-social dogs through our hourly activity rotation and treadmill workouts.

DOG TRAINERS WHO CRY LIKE WHINEY BABIES ABOUT “CRUEL” AVERSIVE TRAINING TOOLS BUT WILL HAPPILY CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WITHOUT PROVIDING RESULTS.

Oh. I’m sorry. Was I yelling? 🤷🏼‍♀️

You guys loved my post the other day so let’s keep the fun times rolling 😂.

Oh and I’m still waiting for someone from the positive only training world to have a discussion about e-collars…

“Open-minded” shouldn’t mean “only open to what I already agree with.”

It’s always interesting how quickly the conversation shuts down the second e-collars get mentioned. No one is forcing you to use them—but refusing to even discuss their potential benefits? That’s not education, that’s a pre-decided conclusion.

You can care deeply about dogs and still be willing to understand tools outside your comfort zone. Those two things can coexist.

If your stance is truly rooted in learning and welfare, the conversation shouldn’t be the scary part.

I guess it’s easier to label something than to actually learn about it. 👀

But what do I know? I’m just a reactive dog mom who had her best friend’s life 180’d by the right tool for her needs. THANK GOODNESS I was willing to change my mind and be educated about the e-collar because if you follow our page, you can see firsthand how amazing Luna’s life is now.

Most days it feels like Jesse and I truly work 24/7.

But between the long days, balancing time for family, the occasional difficult client, sick dogs, Chicago taxes, and everything else life throws at us, we still wouldn’t trade this for the world.

We know your dogs depend on us for providing the only structured, quiet kennel in Chicago. So that’s why we’ll keep on doing it.

Also possibly for the butt scratches and tail wags. Those are nice too.
