Founded in 1868, Lincoln Park Zoo is dedicated to connecting people with nature through a free, family-oriented wildlife experience in the heart of Chicago and by advancing the highest quality of animal care, education, science, and conservation. This is a charge Lincoln Park Zoo is ready to lead. We’re at the forefront of studying how people and nature clash and coexist, and teaching visitors of

all backgrounds how nature must be integrated in our lives for healthy, happy futures for people and animals alike. Our vision: Inspire communities to create environments where wildlife will thrive in our urbanizing world. Welcome to Lincoln Park Zoo. We are committed to creating an environment that is inclusive and welcoming. We celebrate the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, values, and experiences of all people. Creating a safe, welcoming space for all is a responsibility for everyone. We expect guests, staff, and volunteers to treat one another—as well as zoo animals and grounds—with respect and care. By visiting the zoo, you agree to adhere to our code of conduct and visitor guidelines, which help protect both people and animals. https://www.lpzoo.org/guest-guidelines-and-code-of-conduct/

On September 25, we're celebrating our second-ever Giving Day here at Lincoln Park Zoo.

80% of the zoo's funding comes from members, donors, and visitors like you. With your help, our goal is to raise $320,000 to support world-class animal care and help keep the zoo free 365 days a year. Visit https://bit.ly/4zUmTu0 to learn more!

We are saddened to share the loss of snow leopard, Ozzy.

The beloved snow leopard passed following a rapid deterioration in his health. The zoo is grateful to the teams that conducted extensive diagnostic testing, including advanced imaging and care in consultation with our partners at MedVet Chicago.

“Ozzy touched the lives of so many—both guests and staff alike—and quickly
became a favorite of every keeper who had the honor of working with him,” said Curator of Mammals Cassy Kutilek. “He had a stoic yet playful personality that was a perfect balance to his mate Kennedi’s exuberance.”

Please keep the Animal Care and Veterinary Services teams in your thoughts during this difficult time.
