Please note….
Microchip Hunters urges pet owners whose pets have a SAVE THIS LIFE MICROCHIP to register their microchip with another registry as soon as possible.
Save This Life microchips commonly begin with 991001 or 900164, and Microchip Hunters is still receiving many cases of found animals with these “dead-end” microchips with no owner information available!
As of February 2025, Save This Life is no longer in business, meaning microchip registrations with them can no longer be accessed.
Good News: You can register the microchip with any of the established microchip registries, including AKC Reunite, AVID, HomeAgain, PetLink, and 24PetWatch (now PetPlace). Some registries are free to register with, while others charge a nominal fee. No need to pay for extra features.
To check where your pet’s microchip is currently registered, visit AAHA’s Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool:

Please take a moment to check your pet’s microchip registration and make sure your contact information is accessible and current. It could make all the difference in getting your missing pet safely reunited with you!
