These lovely sisters, aged 2 and 3, were left behind when their owner had to return to Mexico, but their resilience and love for life remain unshaken. Dog and kid-friendly, they're the perfect bundle of joy for any family. With hearts full of snuggles and playfulness, they've braved many adventures together and would thrive best with a sibling or a fur friend to continue their journey. These incredible companions don't shed, are crate trained, and are ready to bring love and laughter to their forever home. Bow Wow Revolution has some sad news to report, our favorite pawspice, Yoshi has crossed the rainbow bridge. Yoshi and his sister, Amy joined our rescue in 2020 with a loving foster family who understood the assignment of giving as many snacks and belly rubs to keep our furs happy.

There was zero lack of personality with our little guy. Yoshi loved the spotlight and as many snacks as a lad could get. Even at 15, Yoshi had a fanbase that never wavered over the years as our guy slowed down a bit.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mamadou Diakhate, a dedicated public servant, leader, and lifelong advocate for animals and the communities he served.

Mamadou devoted nearly two decades of service to Chicago Animal Care and Control, serving from 2004 to 2023 in a variety of leadership roles, including Executive Director from 2021 to 2023. During his tenure, he helped guide the department through periods of growth, challenge, and change, always with a focus on compassion, professionalism, and public safety. His steady leadership and deep commitment to animal welfare left a lasting impact on our department and on countless animals and families across Chicago.

After his time at CACC, Mamadou continued his public service as Administrator of Cook County Animal and Rabies Control, where he remained dedicated to strengthening animal welfare programs and supporting communities throughout the region.

Mamadou was respected not only for his experience and knowledge, but also for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his work. He mentored many, supported his colleagues, and led with humility and purpose. He will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

We ask our community to please keep Mamadou’s family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 🕊️

Witness Rex's unbridled joy! We're deeply thankful to his extraordinary foster family for giving this deserving boy a nurturing haven. Though the loss of his companion to cancer has undoubtedly been tough, Rex's resilience shines through. It's crucial we acknowledge pets as cherished family members, integrating them into our planning and what happens to them in the event of crisis. Thankfully, with the kindness of his foster family, Rex can now heal in a warm home environment instead of a chaotic shelter. We'll keep you updated on his progress. Thank you to all who shared his story! It takes a village.

Keeping our BWR family in our thoughts and prayers. Betty came to us, as an extremely young pup, through the shelter as a euthanasia request because she was extremely sick with parvo. Thanks to our amazing donors, Betty had top notch care and made a full recovery. She gained a fur brother Rudy and they were doted on. They both had amazing lives and had a true advocate in their dad. He gave them the best life. Thank you showing them endless love! Run free sweet Betty and Rudy!

PAWS Chicago is sharing information regarding a confirmed positive rabies case involving a dog that was returned to our care after several months in an adoptive home.
