She's a young, sweet, and energetic girl who loves chasing rod toys at lightning speed, that's our Lulu. She likes to watch the outside world while relaxing in the warm sun on the window sill. She loves attention and will shower her favorite humans with kisses. She may even kiss your whole face! Lulu’s curiosity is boundless; she likes to investigate and play with everything. But her cryptonite is the vacuum cleaner.

While she may be a bit shy and cautious at first once she feels comfortable, Lulu’s true affectionate and joyful nature shines. She's quick to warm up, soon she’ll be happily snuggling in your lap and nuzzling you for cheek pets and forehead scratches. Lulu prefers to be the only feline in her home.

Remember Kendrick La Meow? He joined CCR in June of 2025 after we were contacted about a stray cat with a wounded leg.

He is a cat with a very expressive personality! Kendrick is, at times, super chatty. His meows definitely mirror the inflection and tone of humans. Regardless of what he seems to be saying, Kendrick always looks like he's smiling! Yet there are times when Kendrick seems to be holding his tongue, deciding to keep his views to himself. Kendrick loves to be held for long periods, and if he’s not ready to end the embrace, he'll cling to you. This big baby is equal parts brave and shy, but he always has to know what's going on in his home.

It took a little time, but Kendrick is now inseparable with his foster brother Pingus. Although he’s much smaller than Kendrick, Pingus is convinced he should be the head of his household! He isn't much of a lap cat, but Pingus loves to sleep with you, as your little spoon for the entire night. He loves to lean into you, or be in proximity to you, rather than directly on your lap. He just wants to be wherever you are! Pingus is also a very expressive kitty! He’ll shoot you the saddest mug if you tell him he can't have a second breakfast. Luckily, he's not one to hold grudges! While he has a limit to how long he’s willing to be held, Pingus will allow you to pick him up and cuddle him, so you can savor his fur that is incredibly soft.

Brrr, it's cold🥶

We thought today would be a good day to warm your heart with an update on Astrid and a PSA on helping free roaming outdoor kitties.

As you can see from the pictures Astrid's wound has healed nicely. A BIG thank you to her foster mom for all the care and wound treatment she's been giving. Astrid remains a sweet, cuddly gal and has be come an expert biscuit maker. She will be spayed soon and then ready to make her adoption debut.

Tips to help keep free roaming cats warm this winter;
❄️ Provide shelter: A sturdy, insulated box or plastic bin lined with straw can be a lifesaver. Ideally elevated off the ground and with a small opening to keep out wind and snow.
❄️ Fresh water: Prevent freezing by using heated bowls or refreshing their water often. Avoid metal bowls—they can stick to little tongues!
❄️ Extra food: Cats need more calories to stay warm. Add extra kibble or wet food to their routine. Kibble is best when temps are below freezing
❄️ Bang on your hood: Cats often seek warmth under car hoods. Give it a knock before starting your car to make sure they’ve moved to safety. CCR has had a few engine kitties join our rescue.

Our super sweet, pretty gal Rita joined CCR in May of with her 4 kittens. Sadly, she and 2 of her kittens(now adults) are still on the quest for their happily ever after.

Rita loves to seek out her foster parents to be petted and receive some attention. She enjoys a good play session and hanging out with her 2 daughters. She's the proud mama of Miss Lizzy and Eleanor.

While we'd love see the trio in a forever home together, we know that's a tall order. Rita does enjoy feline company and would do great in a quiet home with a mellow feline buddy.

Tiger Lily and Duffi have been waiting a looong time, almost 3 years for their forever family! These gals are giving up hope, we have faith in the universe that their forever person will see them soon!

Tiger Lily is a golden retriever in a cat body—ridiculously affectionate, always purring, always in your lap (or trying to be). She’s already squirming into a cuddle position if you blink too slowly.

Duffi is a cool, curious observer. She enjoys the views when shes up high, she's playful and loves to nap near her foster mom. Duffi has been in a few foster homes, but found her bestie when she met Tiger Lily.

Since the start of January, we’ve been featuring some of our longer-term CCR cats—the ones who’ve been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Today, we want you to meet Marmee, who has been with us for over two years.

Marmee March is a sweet, soft-spoken gal who has been quietly perfecting her snuggle game while she waits for her forever person to show up. She’s gentle, low-key, and lives for chin scritches, long naps by your side, and prefers to be the only feline in the house. There's no chaos or drama with this girl, just quiet companionship and serious eye contact.

These sweet boys have been patiently waiting with CCR far too long, and they’re more than ready for the forever home they deserve 🐾

They may be a little shy at first, but give them a moment and their personalities shine!

Fry is your ultimate cozy companion - happy to nap on the couch, curl up at the foot of the bed, or perch on your chest while you scroll. He’s especially known for his adorable little chirp when he wants your attention (it’s impossible to ignore).

Ritz brings the fun with playful, kitten-like energy. Chasing toys, pouncing on anything that moves, and turning everyday moments into playtime are his specialties 😄 When the day winds down, he loves snuggling under the covers for bedtime cuddles.

These boys have grown up waiting, and now it’s their turn for a loving, permanent home. Could it be with you?

✨ Update on our post-Christmas guest , Astrid ✨

We know many of you were hoping for tiny beans… but it’s looking like this girl is not expecting after all.

We had our friends at Mid North Animal Hospital evaluate the wound on her check, and they also checked to see if she was baking potatoes.

While we won’t be welcoming a litter, we are very relieved that mom won’t have to go through pregnancy after such a rough start.

As for her wound, the vet said she had a broken piece of cheekbone in her wound😢
She's feeling much better with that removed!

Sweetums and Tootles, brothers from another mother who instantly bonded in their foster home, are still on a quest for a forever home. These boys were young kittens when they joined CCR, and it's already been over 2 years 😢

Sweetums is a little shy, very cuddly and super sweet once he gets to know you. He loves binge watching his foster family's favorite shows. He has a really fluffy fur that is so therapeutic to pet, like a panda bear.

Tootles was meant to be a dog, says his foster mom. Comes to you when called, he's adventurous, playful, friendly, always looking for mischief. He's the first to greet you when you come home. He follows his foster family around and demands their attention.

Kittens do best in pairs, having a buddy helps them developmentally, socially and emotionally. So, when we have an odd litter of cuties we place one with them so everyone has a friend.

That's the case with Bhodi and Binks 😸
These boys aren’t bona fide siblings, but given the way they cuddle and play with each other, they are brothers of the heart.

Just from looking at him and the heart-shaped spot on his chest, it’s obvious that this kitten is a total sweetheart. Bhodi loves to cuddle, and combined with his oh-so-soft fur, he’s the perfect lap cat. His affectionate nature also extends to strangers, as Bhodi will walk right up to newcomers, including kids. When he isn’t snuggling or sleeping on your chest, you’ll likely find Bhodi cavorting in cat tunnels, or carrying around an entire cat wand in play.

With those gorgeous yellow gold eyes, he’s quite the looker. But Binks is also a clever and funny kitten, whose antics will charm and amuse you. Binks can entertain himself - and others - for hours! He is especially a fan of anything that rolls, whether it's a mini soccer ball, a fuzzy pom pom, or even a ping pong ball. If it bounces or spins, it's his new favorite toy! Binks is also a loyal kitty to anyone he gets to know, loving to be around you.

Remember our mother daughter duo, Cherry and Chapstick? These 2 cuties joined CCR in August 2025 after their owners had moved out and left them behind.

Thier foster mom says "they have so much personality". Chapstick has been nicknamed "Fish" because she is very docile and rag-doll-like when you hold her. Sweet Cherry's nickname is "Princess or Queen Aurora" because she acts like a beautiful sophisticated princess. She loves to smile when she is happy, and purrs a lot. When Chapstick is getting some tlc, Cherry will come running to vie for the attention.
Chapstick is more interested in running about, and being adventurous, so much kitten energy!

They both love to squirrel watch and are up to date on what's going on by keeping up with neighborhood watch. They love to chase each other up and down the hallways of the house when they aren't copied up together napping.

Sadly these two have had very little interest, we aren't sure why. They've got the looks, personality and bring the party. Interested in meeting them? Email [email protected]
