South Loop Animal Hospital has once again successfully earned our accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)!

AAHA accreditation is a distinction achieved by only a small percentage of veterinary hospitals in North America and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the highest standards of veterinary medicine, patient care, safety, and client service.

This achievement would not be possible without our incredible team, whose dedication and compassion shine through every day, and our wonderful clients who trust us with the care of their beloved pets.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your pets' lives. We are honored to continue serving the South Loop community with the quality care your furry family members deserve.

This Thanksgiving, let's come together to help cats and dogs in our community!

As we reflect on the many things we are grateful for - especially the pets who fill our homes with love - we are launching our SLAH/ESVC Pet Food Drive through December 31 to support families who are struggling to provide for their animal companions.

We are collecting:
- Small bags of dry dog/puppy & cat/kitten food
- Canned adult & kitten/puppy food
- Treats
- Bagged cat litter
- Cat scratching boards

As a special thank you to our clients, we will credit $1 for every pound of pet food and $5 for every bag of cat litter you donate to your account.

All Items will be donated to The Friendship Center to support local families and their pets.

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
