394 days later........ DARLA is going home!

This senior gal has been waiting so patiently for someone to see what we've always seen in her, and just like that, she's got a cat mom of her own.

Chipa has plans for today.

Step 1️⃣: courtyard.

Step 3️⃣: do absolutely nothing strenuous.

At 8 years old, Chipa has figured out that life is better when you take your time. She’s been with us for 17 days, and we think she’s more than ready to trade shelter life for a soft bed, a sunny spot, and someone who appreciates the finer things in life: leisurely strolls, quality couch time, and doing absolutely nothing in particular.

Some Pawtenders just know how to make an entrance. We’re so excited to welcome our friends at The Dandy Crown back to Pour Your Heart Out, where they’ll be putting their cocktail skills to the test for another shot at a Golden Shaker. They’ve already taken home an award at Pour, so naturally, we’re very curious to see what they have up their sleeve this year.

Beyond the cocktails, The Dandy Crown has been an incredible supporter of Anti-Cruelty and Chicago’s animals. We’re lucky to have them in our corner and even luckier to have them back behind the bar. Come raise a glass, cheer on your favorite Pawtender, and help us crown THIS year’s winners.

Look how handsome Tobi looks in his Chicago Cubs bandanna in his new home!

A staff member recently spotted Tobi out with his adopter, and to say he is loved is an understatement. He’s doing amazing with training, staying super active with walks and trips to the beach along Lake Michigan, and clearly living his best life.

Tobi and his adopter are a PERFECT pair, and seeing them together is such a wonderful reminder of what’s possible when adult dogs get the chance to find loving homes.

We couldn’t be happier for you, Tobi. Keep living that good life!

For Ruby and her family, getting Stormy the care he needed meant getting a little extra help, too.
When Ruby brought Stormy to Anti-Cruelty for care, we discovered that he was dealing with underlying urinary issues. Thankfully, we had prescription urinary care food available through a generous donation from Chewy, and we were able to send Ruby and Stormy home with a supply to help support his recovery.

Stories like this are at the heart of Pets for Life. Through our partnership with Humane World for Animals, Anti-Cruelty provides pet-care counseling, supplies, medical services and transportation to families in communities across Chicago, helping keep pets and the people who love them together.

Every year, Pets for Life supports more than 600 pets and 300 families. Because sometimes helping a pet means helping the community, too.
