Help Bring Bud Home

Help Bring Bud Home Bud - yellow Labrador - Neutered -
Micro-chipped - Missing from his dog sitter - on 107th between Normal & Parnell Chicago IL -
Dec. 26-28th of 2022.

Bud went missing from his regular dog walker that had been watching him overnight. He was Bud’s regular dog walker for several years. And when I could not get Bud an reservation with his regular boarding facility, he'd watch him. But I mostly used his dog walking services. I was told Bud went missing from his yard which is on 107th St between Normal & Parnell - Chicago IL - along with two other do

gs of his - A black male pitbull with white markings on chest & paws that went by the name of King. And a female bully breed light tan with white markings on neck, chest & paws by the name of Penny - I believe. During this time while Bud's been missing and with the help of some wonderful lost dog recovery volunteers - we’ve hung 100’s of flyers, talked to multiple people, followed up with police, gone to shelters & viewed multiple dogs in the possibility they might have been Bud. But still no Bud 😢

Bud is a purebred male Labrador retriever. He is micro-chipped & it is up to date. He was wearing a metal training collar - no tags. He is neutered. Had knee surgery on both rear legs. And also has an very identifiable feature. I’ve had him since he was a puppy. He has a loving home & he is deeply missed 💔

Please help me find him. Help Bring Bud Home

Wondering. Waiting. Checking.

Following up on posts we’re tagged in.

Contacting the chip company to check.

Where is Bud????

WHY hasn’t his chip been scanned?

If you found him & only realized he belonged to someone after you’ve been caring for him but don’t know how to return him know to love a dog is a great privilege. But to be loved by a dog is even a greater blessing.

Bud was my blessing. And I adored him. He wasn’t just a dog. He was my child. My everything.

If you have him, please find it in your heart to return him.

Drop him off to get scanned at any vet or police station. Call me directly. No questions asked.

SO, Why aren’t people checking for microchips?

It’s a simple step that should be taken if you find a dog

How does someone have a dog in their possession for several years & the chip go undetected? Are they not giving them proper care? Taking them to the vet?

And if they have taken them to a why aren’t these dogs scanned at checkups?

After more than 2 years missing, Pezkoi is finally home!

Pezkoi went missing from on 3/22/24, and his family never stopped hoping he would be found.

Yesterday they received the call they had waited years for.
Kankakee County Animal Control found Pezkoi wandering the streets in Bourbonnais and brought him safely in. When they scanned for a microchip, everything changed. It led directly back to his family.

From his family:
"Yes I am so thankful for not giving up. He was found wandering the streets of Bourbonnais, IL and animal control took him in and scanned for a chip. We got a call yesterday saying they had Pezkoi. We first thought it was another spam..., but no, this was the real deal. Finally he is back at home, tired but so happy."

This is what hope looks like after more than 2 years:

• Never giving up matters
• Microchips work and truly bring pets home
• Even after a long time, reunions are still possible

Welcome home Pezkoi!

Reunion video will be attached in the comments.

Not only found in another state.

But another Chicago dog found in the state of

I’m not sure how many now but since Bud went missing there have been several Chicago dogs that have gone missing end up in Texas.

All were microchipped.

Found in another State 2 years later!

Laika went missing from her family and her dog sibling two years ago in Louisiana. Today, Microchip Hunters is so proud to have played a part of this reunion. Microchips can bring dogs home when you least expect it.

A Good Samaritan, Luis, found this sweet girl in Texas. While she appeared well-fed, she was very dirty, and he knew she had to belong to someone. After posting in various social media groups, he was directed to Microchip Hunters when the microchip alone didn’t lead him to her family.

Microchip Hunter Ann attempted to call the number listed on the chip and reached a voicemail in Spanish. That’s when fellow volunteer Carmen stepped in to help translate and make contact. When the family answered, they were in disbelief that she was in Texas. Laika had been missing for two years. She had run off with their other dog, who eventually returned home but Laika never did. Despite being microchipped, they never received any notification that she had been found.

Eager to bring her home, the family offered to drive a few hours and asked for help coordinating the rest. Microchip Hunters reached out to rescue partners, and Rachel J. quickly stepped in. Through Rescueber, she was able to assist from the Texas/Louisiana border and already had plans to be in Louisiana within days. Her friend Leah also helped take her overnight!

Meanwhile, Luis had grown attached to Laika but was unable to keep her long-term. Cindy H. graciously offered to foster Laika until transport could be arranged. Then, Marilyn from Lost Dogs of Texas put out a call for help with the first leg of the journey, and Celia answered without hesitation.

With every piece falling into place, the transport plan came together beautifully. Each person followed through, and late this morning, Laika was finally reunited with her family.

Welcome home, Laika. What a joyful day for everyone involved.

Reunions like this are only possible because of the kindness and compassion of so many people. Thank you to every single person who played a part in bringing Laika home.

Laika loved Luis and when he went to visit her to say goodbye, she wanted to go with him. Dogs truly love their people. She was confused but is happy to be home!

Another dog going home!

These stories are difficult to read but we're so thankful she & her puppies were saved.

Held hostage in a crate, in a dirty basement & used as a breeding machine.

How do people do this?

How do you steal a family member?

How do you treat them like they are material objects without feelings?

Locked in crates.
No blankets. Only hard concrete floors.

Only for profit. Not an once of love or caring.

Meanwhile, family's like this one, like us & all the others go wondering what happened to their beloved dog. The family's that treated them like FAMILY.

Just how?

Remember Ramen? Her, her nine puppies, and nine adult dogs arrived at our facility from one house earlier this month. After that post went out, we were contacted by someone who provided irrefutable proof that Ramen was her dog that had been missing since April of last year. Ramen remained in foster care with her nine puppies, nursing them until they were old enough to eat on their own. Then the beautiful reunion happened, and Ramen is back with her family. Ramen is actually named Nova, and she’s incredibly happy to be back with her people ❤.

The Abandoned of Cook County thankfully saved some dogs during a search warrant. And this is one of them that had an owner looking. So happy she was reunited. And she’d apparently not the only one from the search warrant who has an owner.

Thank you for all you do to reunited pets with their owners & help those that need a loving home.

We wanted to provide you all an update on Poutine. She has been reunited with her original owner 🥹❤️. This person is a truck driver and Poutine was his co-pilot. After stopping at a truck stop one day, Poutine went missing. He never gave up hope. After all the posts about her and the other 17 dogs from one house, he realized that was his dog and provided proof that only her owner would know. Last night, they were finally reunited and Poutine let out the happiest little noises 💕.

I’m always grateful to see another reunion of a dog that’s been missing for many years from family.

At the same time astonished at the amount of time that has gone by and the dog never was checked for a chip.

Why aren’t they being checked?

This should be a non-negotiable when any new dog is brought in to a veterinary facility.

How does someone have another family’s dog this long and it go un-detected?

Are they not taking the dog for regular check- ups?

Something as simple as scanning a dog. But somehow it’s not done.

It’s coming up on the 3rd year since Bud went missing - He was with his regular dog walker that was watching him for two days while I went to a funeral out of town.

The dog walker lived in on 107th & Parnell.

I was told Bud went missing from the yard along with the dog walkers two dogs - his dogs were a male black w/ white pitbull & a female tan w/ white pitbull.

He didn’t say what day the dogs went missing from yard.

Bud was dropped off the afternoon of 12/26/22 & I returned to pick him up on the morning of 12/28/25. That is when I was told he was missing.

If you know someone that found Bud, a male blonde in color or these two dogs on or around these dates please message us.

5 years & 2,000 miles away from home. God had a plan for them. Praying he’s got Bud & I in the same 🙏🏾❤️🐾
