Our flea friend decided to come back and become a menace 😑 Help us catch it again!

Prevention helps keep our furry babies healthy and your home infestation-free. Flea, ticks, and mosquitoes can transmit diseases to both humans and animals. This is why our veterinarians recommend have your pet keep up with their preventative year-round as these pests are around in every season. Consult with your veterinarian about preventatives to continue help your pet be healthy🐾💗

This week we had an interesting call from a client reporting a tick on their pet’s snout! 🫣
They had booked with us to help remove the tick with our technicians. Our medical staff were able to easily remove it and had examined the pet for any other friends. They fortunately found none!
This is a friendly reminder to keep your pet up to date with flea & tick prevention. Lyme disease is unfortunately on the rise and the best way to prevent its increase is to help keep our pets safe with preventatives and/or vaccines. If you find something that you think is a tick, it never hurts to contact your veterinarian and confirm! Like humans, dogs and cats can get tick borne diseases. If you find a tick on your pet, remove it as soon as possible. It is recommended to have a veterinary team to help remove the tick to ensure all of it is removed and check if others are remaining.
When removing a tick, wear gloves and use fine-tipped tool such as tweezers to pull it out. Pull the tick straight out with steady pressure to help avoid infection as mouth parts can break off and remain in skin if pulled in a twisted motion. To dispose of it, do not crush the tick! Instead, have sealed bag or container to submerge the live tick in alcohol.
Contact your veterinarian to help consult on preventative and vaccines for your pet!
