Supplies for Bringing a Puppy Home

- One of the most important things you’ll need is a crate. This will help you with potty training, keeping your puppy safe, and keeping your puppy out of trouble when you’re not around. You want to make sure the crate isn’t too big otherwise it’ll start to use the bathroom on one side and keep the other side clean. The crate should only be big enough that the puppy could stand up and turn around.

- Good quality puppy food. Puppies need to eat a lot to help them grow so make sure you always have puppy food available.

- Leash and collar. Make sure not to leave the collar on when the puppy is alone or not being supervised because it can be a choking hazard.

- Chew toys will be helpful while the puppy is teething.

- Water bowl

- Dog nail clippers or a dremel. It is very important to make sure your puppies nails do not grow too long otherwise walking will become uncomfortable. It also better to get them used to getting their nails trimmed when they are small rather than waiting until they are fully grown.

- Shampoo, but make sure you do not bathe your puppy too often because it will dry out the skin. I recommend every six weeks.

- Treat pouch for when you are training your puppy.

Optional Supplies

- Buying a clicker will help with teaching your puppy commands and tricks

- You can buy training treats, but I personally recommend using their kibble for training.

- Kong will provide mental stimulation for the puppy and also tire the puppy out.

- Dog tooth brush and tooth paste. Dental hygiene is very important to a dogs overall health and can help prevent many health issues.

What Not to Buy

- I do not recommend harnesses; unless your goal is for your dog to pull.

- P*e pads are going to train your dog to use the bathroom inside. If you want your dog to only use the bathroom outside do not use p*e pads.

Pacific Bulldog vs English Bulldog

Size
Pacific Bulldog standard is 15-17 inches at the withers. Weighing between 50-75 pounds.

English Bulldog standard is 14-15 inches at the withers. Weighing between 40-50 pounds.

Health, Temperament, & Build
Pacific bulldogs are athletic, sturdy, and muscular. They are confident, outgoing, and playful. Even though they have drive they also have a gentle side to them. They do well with training and are very fun to be around. On top of all those great qualities they also breathe better than the English bulldog and are capable of doing more activities with their family. Even though they breath better they are still a brachycephalic breed so it is still important to be cautious when it is hot or humid outside. Pacific bulldogs are the ultimate family dog.

English bulldogs are thick set and low to the ground. They are easy going dogs that don’t require a lot of exercise. They don’t have much drive and would greatly prefer to relax with the family at home. They shouldn’t be overworked, especially in the summer due to them having a hard time breathing. They love being around their family and even though they are heavy they still try to curl up on their family’s lap.

* They are great family dogs that love to be around their pack

* They are friendly and patient
* They do not require much exercise and prefer to relax
Cons:
* Need to be extra cautious when having them out on a hot or humid day
* They need to be cleaned in between their wrinkles
* They are prone to more health issues such as allergies, cherry eye, hip dysplasia, entropion, and have a harder time breathing
* They can not go out for long walks or do much exercise in general
