Don't panic if your betta is bottom-dwelling! 🐟💤

It’s easy to assume the worst when you catch your betta resting on the tank substrate, but bottom-resting is often perfectly normal. Bettas have heavy fins that require a lot of energy to move around, so taking a quick nap or just lounging on the bottom is completely fine!

When to check twice: If they are lethargic for extended periods, struggling to swim, or showing signs of heavy breathing, be sure to check your water parameters.

If your tank is filled to the very top or doesn't allow easy access to the surface, your betta may struggle to breathe properly. Over time, this can lead to stress, illness, and even life-threatening health problems.

✅ Always leave a small gap between the water level and the tank lid so your betta can comfortably reach the surface for fresh air.

A simple adjustment can make a big difference in keeping your betta healthy, active, and thriving. 💙
