Sara here. About a month ago my husband found a kitten under the back porch when he went out for his morning coffee. We searched the neighborhood for flyers, had the little guy checked for a chip, monitored our neighborhood news groups on Facebook, and after a month of searching it became very clear that no one was looking for him. After the briefest conversation in the history of conversations we decided he could make his home with us. So, without further ado, it my pleasure to introduce newest member my my family. Everyone, meet Gryffin. Welcome home little one.

Sara here. Spoke with the vet today and it looks like we can be cautiously optimistic. They said he's passing fluids just fine and that his urine looks completely normal. He's still hooked up to an IV, but they're hopeful that if he stays on his current course he might be able to come home tomorrow. They also told us he's in good spirits and that the staff who've had the pleasure of meeting him absolutely love him. I'm somehow not surprised by that last part, he is a bit of a charmer.

Sara here. Our little Padfoot is spending the next few days in the hospital. It started at around 1:30pm when he displayed mild lethargy. By the time we (my fiancé and I) took him to the emergency vet he'd stopped moving around, was week, and had gotten sick on the rug twice. Upon examination they found a blockage in his urethra which meant he'd be staying overnight at the very least. They sedated him, inserted a catheter to alleviate the blockage, and did bloodwork to assess his kidneys. They called us after we got home to let us know that insertion of the catheter went smoothly and that some of his tests came back. Turns out some of his kidney values are slightly elevated so they're going to keep him for the next couple of days to see if they go down. That's all the information I have for you now. I'll post updates as soon as I know more. Keep him in your thoughts, send positive vibes, and keep your fingers crossed.
