🐶🐾 We had puppy overload last week at SVS when a whole crew of Heartland Animal Shelter pups came in for spay/neuter.

They got one step closer to their forever homes, and we got lots and lots of sweet puppy nose boops and cuddles! 🤗🤗

A look at our TNR package at SVS! 🐈🐾

The feral cats arrive in traps - thanks .feline.project !

They are then sedated and given a full exam by our Doctors. They’re given their vaccines, a microchip, and treatment for any wounds or injuries. It’s tough out there for a feral cat!

The cats are neutered and given an ear-tip, as a marker to know that they have been sterilized.

After they recover in the hospital, the rescue returns them to their caretakers where they can be released back outside over the coming days.

We’re proud to have TNR’d hundreds and hundreds of feral cats, helping reduce the feral and homeless animal population in Chicagoland! 😸😸

This is Cap from MCP! 💕

Cap is a good boy who came in last week for a Cytopoint injection to help control his itchiness.

As you can see, he was a very sweet, loving patient.

It must be so hard being this cute! 🐶🤗

If you’ve been to our hospital, you’ll no doubt have been greeted and won over by our CVT Lauren. 🤗🤗

She has been working at Shelter Veterinary Solutions since the beginning (August 2022) but has decided it is now time to begin a new adventure!

She has worked in Shelter Medicine for 20 years and is continuing to help animals, but in a new role outside of our hospital. 🐱🐶

Lauren is highly skilled both in veterinary medicine and in her ability to calm and soothe any nervous or uncertain patient.

She is great with dogs and cats alike; large breeds, small breeds; terrified dogs and angry cats; all animals that came through SVS doors were well taken care of thanks in large part to her! 🐾🩶

All of us here at SVS will miss her and we wish her luck on her new journey!

Leave well wishes and thanks below so Lauren can see how loved she is by the SVS community! 💕🤗

This little kitten Armand came in to have this huge lump checked out. Turns out this is a congenital (born this way) hernia in his abdominal wall. Most of his small intestines located under the skin of his belly. But don't worry, he's all fixed up now. He had abdominal wall hernia repair surgery today. See the before and after pictures!

Little Posey was facing a deadline at CACC. Luckily, Dr. Kompare was looking for a new foster, and Community Animal Rescue Effort - CAREwas able to scoop her up. Posey has a wound and swelling on one of her rear legs. She will be getting treatment to help her heal. Posey has a safe place to get better and that is what’s important! *picture of wound in comments-don’t look if you’re squeamish*
