Registration is still open for the Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society (MWVOS) Meeting this next month in Chicago! Make plans to join us for great cases, learning, networking and our always-fun Midwest awards. We will also be doing a special tribute/celebration of life for Dr. Koch.

Hello all...No words to say how heartbroken we all are by the sudden passing of one of our founding members, Dr. Seth Koch. He was more than a leader — he was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend to so many of us. His passion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to Veterinary Ophthalmology helped shape not only ACVO but the people within.

He gave so much of himself to this profession, and his presence will be deeply missed. His legacy in veterinary ophthalmology lives on in the values he instilled and the community he helped create.

We will honor his memory and keep his spirit alive each year through his Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society meeting, ensuring that what he gave continues to inspire future generations. We look forward to seeing everyone in February 2026 in Chicago.

thanksgiving is over, now everyone thinks xmas etc but also think the midwest meeting at the Gwen last two days of feb, first of
march,chicago...all clinical, all fun, great interactions.....300 for
dips ,250 for others and the best hotel, the Gwen on rush st for 159 ( normal rate 400 ) and this will be our 8th year there...so send money to midwest/ seth koch.....or venmo to animaleyedoc1 .....and hotel number 312 645 1500 and mention midwest for discount....any questions, paige evans or me....

happy almost thanksgiving to one and all...a message for the midwest meeting, the oldest regional meeting in the u.s.a. ....at the Gwen hotel for the 8th year in downtown chicago on the miracle mile. the meeting starts friday night with a get together and then sat and sun from 8ish to noonish, breakfast included...the cost for 8 hours of c.e. is 300 for dips and 250 for residents, students. the dates are the last 2 of feb and the first of march...room rate at the hotel is 159 plus tax ( normal rate at the hotel is 400 ) The rate will hold till feb 14 th....the phone number is 312 645 1500 and when calling mention midwest to get the rate..if you want to present something clinical ( no reading of presentation!!!!!) send your info to Paige

appetizers and cocktails fri night , meeting sat and sun from 8ish to 12ish....please email Paige ([email protected]) if you need a registration form including hotel phone number and mention mwvos for room rate, meeting rate..300 for acvo folks and 250 for interns, spouses, friends etc...check to me or venmo ( the first time ever!!!) and any questions at all, e mail me...if you are going to present, let me or paige evans know so we can have the program ready!!! and if you are going to present, send the info to paige before the 14th of feb ( happy valentines day)..any questions at all, drop me a line....this will be something like the 45th plus year..kudos to chuck parshall, milt wyman and yours truly and gretchen schmidt for starting the whole shebang!!!

Sorry for the delayed posting of our annual Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmic Society (MWVOS) meeting in Chicago at The Gwen Hotel. We had a great turnout with engaging/interesting and fun presentations. Always a great time, lots of laughs and this year LOTS of chocolate cake!! Few photographs of some of the award ceremony. A big thank you to our sponsors/exhibitors! We look forward to next year!

Happy Super Bowl weekend!!!
FYI....The hotel rate as of feb 14th reverts back to the usual rate..SO if you are planning on coming to the midwest meeting, call the hotel this week to get the rate of $169 plus tax...the number is (312)645-1500 and mention the midwest

the meeting is at the Gwen for the 7th year..the number one hotel in chicago on rush street in the nordstrom shopping center ....the dates are feb 28, mar 1 and 2...appetizers and drinks friday night, meeting and breakfasts sat and sun...we finish around noon on sunday so everyone can
make it home on a afternoon flight or drive in daylight ....the cost is 250 for diplomates and 225 for everyone else...the coplow group entertain us with histopath along with the clinicians cases...the meeting is all clinical , no-one stands up and reads their research (forbidden) ...and every year we have the famous awards at the conclusion of the meeting....the hotel rate is 169 plus tax (normal rate for the hotel is in the high 400s) and the rate holds till the 14th of feb....so....if you are considering coming to the meeting make your hotel reservations and then send me a check made out to mwvos/sethkoch.....send to 23 hedge row rd, princeton n.j. 08540....look forward to seeing each and every one of you....seth koch

Dear Colleagues:
Happy 2025! Join us for the annual Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society Meeting this February in Chicago! This event is an opportunity for veterinary professionals specializing/have a special interest in ophthalmology to gather, share knowledge, present frustrating/interesting/odd cases and have casual discussions on ophthalmology with no pressure of a big conference.

When:
Friday evening, February 28- Sunday noon, March 1st

Where:
The Gwen Hotel, in downtown Chicago - room block rate of $159/night. Call the hotel directly at 312-645-1500 and use the block name of "Midwest Veterinary" to get the special rate.

Registration:

Do you need to present?
Yes, well no but we encourage it. A short 10-15 minute Powerpoint – nothing fancy - in PC format to Paige Evans BEFORE the end of the day on Monday, February 24th.

the midwest meeting is the last evening of feb 28,
morning of march 1 and 2...so its time to make your hotel
reservations...call the Gwen directly , not marriot....tell them midwest meeting, rate is 169 plus tax...the reason that i am telling one and all is that one individual called marriot and was quoted 699 per night...NO WAY...so have a very good Hanuxmas holiday this year ( they both fall on the same date..oy vey) and make your reservations and send me a check for meeting.... mwvos/seth koch.... 23 hedge row rd, princeton n.j. 08540..... again , merry and happy and healthy.....seth koch.... ps...techs, non-dips, interested gps all are invited so spread the word as you all see fit....
