Another new friend in our walking club, Poko the corgi! Poko is a training client who needed a weekend of boarding. It was a perfect opportunity to get to know her better and for us work on socialization and loose-leash walking together. If you didn’t know, corgis can be a stubborn breed and they love to bark. They’re well-loved for their cheerfulness and tenacity (and cute butts) though I would not recommend them to inexperienced dog owners. If you’re interested in this breed, of course do your research (and make sure when selecting one that your money does not go to puppy mills or neglectful breeders), and work on training good behaviors as early as possible. My trusty staff (Penny & Julian 🐾) and I, look forward to more walks and playtime with Poko!
