“To the animal shelter administration, I have wanted to rescue a pug for years. I have been checking your website often, and I hope you will consider my family for adopting the 10-month-old female pug if she becomes available. We have rescued 2 dogs from your shelter and [they] have been amazing and spoiled. I have included some treats to share with her. - Dylen B., 11 years old.”

When our team received this handwritten letter, we knew we had the chance to make a pug-loving kiddo’s dream come true. So, we invited Dylen to the shelter to meet her!

There were smiles, laughter, and plenty of puppy love, and that same day, Waffles joined their family! Once home, Waffles enjoyed a bath, explored the property, met Woodrow (their other dog adopted from CAS), settled into her brand-new bed, and, most importantly, received plenty of love and attention from Dylen.

Moments like these are a reminder that adoption isn't simply about finding a pet a home, but about creating connections, building families, and bringing people and pets together in ways that change lives. We wish Dylen and Waffles the absolute best on all of their adventures together!

🐱 Got Mice? We’ve got adoptable working cats!
Our working cat program grants healthy and independent cats the chance to thrive, living in barns, warehouses, and businesses to help deter pests without the expectation of being a lap cat. All of our working cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped, and even have reduced adoption fees!

You can view all of our working cats by visiting our website or by heading to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter today!

We are partnering with Cathy Bissell and the BISSELL Pet Foundation to save lives! We spayed/neutered 46 felines on Wednesday through their Fix the Future® program. BISSELL Pet Foundation is breaking barriers to affordable and accessible spay/neuter by sending veterinarians to shelters and communities in need. We cannot wait to support more community pets at the next one!
