K9s 4 Mobility

K9s 4 Mobility K9s 4 Mobility is dedicated to enriching the lives of others through the training, placement and support of Assistance Dog Partnerships.

Puppy rasier/trainers start each puppy off at 8 - 11 weeks of age until around the age of 1 year. They are responsible for house training & maners, socialization, obedience and the foundation skill tasks necessary for Assistance Dogs.

Service dog Colgate and his partner Callie pass their Assistance Dogs International Public Access test in Leavenworth, KS along with Service dog team Frazier & Bridgid who were recertified the same day!

Service dog Colgate demonstrates for Callie how good he is with interacting with people and kids and then can ignore them when asked! Thanks to Callie's neighborhood for respecting their training time and waiting to be told they can say hello.

Service dog Colgate had a good time with retired Service dog Kacey, who lives with his puppy raiser, earlier in the week and then met up with this sweet girl tonight. It took a bit to get her interested in playing, but once she did it was great fun!

September is National Service Dog Month; this month is devoted to raising awareness as well as showing gratitude for the amazing work service animals do each day for the people in their care, whether it is for the blind, Deaf, disabled veteran, diabetic alert, seizure, autistic, etc. This month honors these hard-working dogs for improving the lives of millions and increasing their security, safety, and quality of life.

A gift this big deserves another post.... Jonah Bank of Wyoming donated $20,000 that will be used to cover the other half of the new van purchase!!! We love everyone involved and consider them part of the K9s 4 Mobility family. Jonah Bank has supported K9s 4 Mobility since our humble beginnings and would not be the success we are without them! Service dog Colgate and Callie have been working hard to train together as a team in her home, community and workplace. They have daily walks to the park, playtime and cuddle time each day. The most serious of all tasks that Colgate provides to Callie is the stability for transfers. This requires trust on both of them in each other and is facilitated multiple times by the trainer until they are ready to try it with supevision only.
