Hess Thoroughbreds and Performance Horses

You ask any breeder, breeding season never truly ends.
Just when we get done foaling and breeding we’re already planning next breeding season.

We have several stallion options picked out for this mare but we would love some suggestions!

“Crown H Zinger” a 2011 Bay TB mare By Small Change (North Rock) out of Sassy Suzie Q (Meadow Prayer).

Zinger was one of our best all arounds before injury forced early retirement. She’s our first homebred Polo pony from our program and she means a lot to us. She had a phenomenal 2022 filly by Dolfina Legendario (Aiken Cura E01). We absolutely loved how she crossed on those lines.

She is everything we want in a Polo pony, handy, fast and SMART. There isn’t much we’d change about her.

If she was yours, what Polo stallion would you breed her too?

“Crown H Roja” a 2023 Chestnut Thoroughbred Filly by Dolfina Legendario (Aiken Cura E01) out of Crown H Zinger (Small Change)

This filly is going to be so fun to play. She’s a 100% Polo bred. Shes been started and is wicked smart and easy.

She’s getting the winter to grow and will be put back to work this spring!

We adore our La Dolfina/ Crown H crosses!

Crown H butts drive us nuts!

Especially on a set of full siblings!

Pictured is our 2020 Bay AQHA Appendix Stallion “The Cisco Kidd” aka Cisco and our 2022 Grey AQHA Appendix mare “JMH Whippoorwill” aka Feathers.

Both are by our late stallion, Small Change (North Rock) and out of Devons Flying Pie (Devons Signature).

We adore our Change X Rita babies, they both have been retained to be added back into the breeding program later. They are a unique mix of Polo bred TB on old school Running bred QH.

Their sire was a grandson of Northern Dancer and their dams dam was a full sister to Straw Fly Specials dam.
East Jet, The Signature, Storm Cat, Pie In The Sky, Rising Market and more all with in five generations. Northern Dancer and Pie In The Sky are on the face of both their papers.

Feathers took after her dam and Cisco took after his sire, Feathers is Changes only Grey and only AQHA Appendix filly. Cisco is Changes only AQHA Appendix Stallion. We like to think they are limited editions.

We do have a yearling half sister available!

“Change My Mojo” aka Mojo a 2016 Black APHA Stallion by Small Change (North Rock) out of Mischiefs Sacred Indian (Sacred Indian)

Every little girl dreams of having a Black stallion. Mojo was supposed to be a loud Tobiano like his sister, but we’re okay he wasn’t.

Mojo is a super unique out cross of our Polo bred TB and World Champion APHA. His sire is our late grandson of Northern Dancer, his dam is our late daughter of Sacred Indian. We are very thankful we have Mojo and Indy (“Ten Little Indians”) to continue those lines.

Mojo’s first foals have been spectacular! His first filly is available, special considerations to a Polo home!!

Our board members had a meeting discussing how they could improve their foal pictures.

Clearly, naps, not standing still and looking like moldy carpet were not on that meeting agenda.

Our oldest is four months and our youngest is three months.

All are Polo bred with some super cool outcrosses. We have three full JC TBs, one APHA and one AQHA Appendix.

In order:

“CH Whip Cream Bikini” aka Darcy a 2026 Black AQHA Appendix Filly by Pastels Smart Lena (Smart Little Lena) out of Meanerthanthedevil (Kick On)

“CH In The Spirit World” aka Chavez a 2026 Dark Bay APHA C**t by Change My Mojo (Small Change) out of Devons Flying Pie (Devons Signture)

“CH Split The Check” aka Dutch a 2026 Bay JC Thoroughbred C**t By Hess Bodidly (Small Change) out of Bring The Check (Royal Strand)

“CH Right In The Kisser” aka Punch a 2026 Dark Bay JC Thoroughbred C**t By Hess Bodidly (Small Change) out of Morning Valentine (Morning Line)

When you post things for the public eye 98% of the time your posts are met with positive reactions or comments.
That other 2% is a negative reaction or comment. People giving their negative two cents, or judging based on the way something looks in a photo without knowing anything about the subject matter.

We understand everyone has their owns opinions, just like we do and you have every right to voice them. However, when it comes to the health of our horses we take that seriously.

Some comments were made regarding our last post and our mares, “JMH Whipoorwill” aka Feathers, feet. We pride ourselves with being transparent. We understand she was due to be trimmed and was after that photo was taken. We understand her toes were long in the photo. That being said, Feathers, like all of our horses, receives the out most care. Whether it be farrier work, vet work or nutritional needs.

We will protect our reputation and our horses. Negative comments and post bashing will not be tolerated.

On a lighter note, we are so incredibly thankful that our page is gaining more followers that support our little breeding program and our horses. Social media can be so toxic and disheartening, we like to think our Crown H ponies brighten people’s feed the way they do our lives every day.

Like Cisco being a ham while getting a pedicure 😉

Thank you from the Crown H team!

Feathers, one of our Polo bred 4 yr olds, enjoying the Cali sun!

“JMH Whippoorwill” aka Feathers

A 2022 Grey AQHA Appendix Mare by Small Change (North Rock) out of Devons Flying Pie (Devons Signature)

This mare is to die for! She is our last Appendix by our late stallion, Small Change.

She is a full sibling to our stallion, “The Cisco Kidd”.

This mare is 71% TB and one of our unique crosses of Polo lines on old school Running QH.

Shes in training and we can’t not wait to see her on the field!

She has been retained, but we do have her yearling half sister available that looks just like her! 😉
