What sets BDAR apart is our unique vision for Wyoming:

We’re the only rescue dedicated exclusively to helping Wyoming’s homeless pets and Wyoming’s pet owners. PACK Program: A partnership with the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution that pairs shelter dogs with inmate handlers for 9 weeks. This program teaches dogs basic obedience and provides both the dog and the inmate with the opportunity

for shared redemption and rehabilitation. Foster care: A program designed to increase the capacity of the adoption program by placing animals in temporary care in the homes of willing volunteers. High-volume adoptions: A program designed to place as many homeless pets in dedicated permanent homes as quickly as possible, thereby freeing up physical, financial, and human resources necessary to care for new incoming animals, or those requiring more extensive therapies prior to adoption. Low-cost microchips: Affording people the ability to have their pet permanently identified in the event they become missing and need to be reunited with their owner. Pet food pantry: Assisting members of the community with free dog and cat food and other supplies during times of financial hardship. Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program: Re-homing assistance for dogs who need not ever enter a shelter.

This stunning girl is Missy! She is a Central Asian Shepherd around 6 years old. True to her livestock guardian lineage, she does a great job protecting her sheep & horses, but she is NOT good with chickens. She has been around other dogs and does fine but is an independent girl.

She likes to be around people and loves to give hugs too. If you have a dog-savvy cat that can stand up for itself, Missy would probably do ok with it.

Missy needs a 6' fence to be safely contained.

Once you open his door, Leo wants to be with you! He spends most of his time rubbing up on your legs, begging for attention. He is a little unsure around the other cats at the moment, but he should go to a home without dogs!

That's amazing. Here are just a few adoptions that we caught as families welcomed new cats and dogs into their lives. Join us in wishing them the happiest new chapter!

We have the BEST news, Kymber found a home! ❤️ After 240 days in our care, Kymber has finally landed in the place she was always meant to be. 🥹🐾

For 240 days, we waited for the right family to see the wonderful girl we knew and loved. Now, Kymber has her very own human child to dote on, a loving family to call her own, and no other animals to stress her out. It truly sounds like the perfect match for this sweet girl!

Her new family reports, "We absolutely adore Kymber! She is the sweetest, most gentle, down to earth gal. We are really glad she is part of our family!"

We couldn't be happier for Kymber or more grateful to her new family for opening their hearts and home to her. After such a long wait, she finally has her happily-ever-after. ❤️🏡

Bangers is an independent gal who prefers to take life at her own pace. She's still building confidence with people and would likely thrive as a barn cat or in another home where she can enjoy her space while having a safe place to call her own.

This rough and tough outlaw is learning the ropes. He is a bit scared still and ain't afraid to show it. We have been consistently showing him people are not scary and he's really starting to trust us.

It is a work in progress, and any new home will need to be committed to helping him towards the goal of being a friendly house cat.
