Make them MOVE!

Spread out their resources to encourage the herd to utilize their whole space.

This is even more important in smaller paddocks.

No goat spam today. They're busy weedeating paddocks. So here's a scruffy mutt update!

Nyx came to me in January, shy and timid. I knew my time with Logan was being cut short by his lymphoma so I got her before I lost him & he helped start her training. Id wanted a smaller companion so went with a JRT/Silkie Terrier cross. It was immediately apparent how freaking smart she is.

In the past 7mo she's learned all the farm dog commands (and umpteen extra tricks), has become more outgoing & her terrible terrier personality has blossomed.

She is only 10lbs and willing to take on chasing the geese, obsessed with her ball & loves running with the rtv. She has topped out at 18mph!

I keep her away from the goats, they would go after Logan and he was 80 lb of p**s and vinegar, so Nyx has no business in their space. But she will get to meet the kids this winter

Besties back together πŸ₯°

These 10 get the 2 paddocks attached. Zelda will be up at the barn with Claire and Celeste in their small paddock next to her. The boys are in the pond field.

This will be their field assignments for the next month, until I draw blood for pregnancy tests. Then I will figure out the Fall pasture plan.

In 30d we'll draw blood to do preg tests & see who has conceived. There originally was going to be a second breeding but I decided not to. Kidding has to be finished the beginning of 2027 bc I start night shift foaling horses at the end of January.
