PSA from a breeder 🐾📢
I’m going to say this as respectfully as I can: being able to buy a puppy and being able to afford a puppy are two different things.
If coming up with the price of the puppy is already putting you in a bind, please think twice before bringing one home. Puppies need vaccines, deworming, food, grooming, preventatives, routine vet care—and sometimes the unexpected happens.
I’m currently dealing with a $5,000+ vet bill for one of my own puppies. Did I want to spend $5,000 at the vet? Absolutely not 😭 But when you own an animal, sometimes you don’t get a choice. They depend on YOU.
So when I tell someone no to $30–$40 a week payment plans or refuse to practically give a puppy away, I’m not being greedy or rude. I care where my babies go. ❤️
I would rather keep a puppy here with me for six more months than send one home with someone who has no way to handle a $500 emergency vet visit.
These aren’t toys or something you buy just because they’re cute. They’re living, breathing babies who deserve owners prepared to care for them when things go wrong—not just when everything is easy. 🐶❤️
Please make sure you can afford the responsibility, not just the puppy.
