"More to love" is the cliche about big dogs, big people, big anything...but there's a reason it's used so often for dogs: It can be such an apt description of a lot of bigger dogs' laid-back personalities.

We'd like to turn your attention particularly to Tater, the gal in the upper left corner with the obvious cherry eye, the common term for a dog's pr*****ed third eyelid tear-producing gland. Shelter staff believes it is discouraging potential adopters, even though they are told it will be corrected before her adoption is finalized. The operation to fix this is relatively straight-forward, but it does require that the dog wear a recovery cone collar afterward for at least two weeks. Given that Tater, a Cane Corso, weighs 98 pounds, she cannot spend that time in a shelter cage, because they are divided in half by a relatively narrow "guillotine" passageway that she wouldn't be able to step through if she is wearing a cone. So the shelter is looking for a foster family able to care for her for at least those two weeks. There’s info in the comments below on how to become a foster for Anne Arundel County Animal Services.
