Just like people, our pets can be affected by poor air quality. Fine particles in wildfire smoke can irritate the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs.

📲 Check your local Air Quality Index (AQI) before outdoor activities. When the air is unhealthy for people, it can also be unhealthy for our furry family members.

🍔🌭 BBQ Safety Tips for Your Pets! 🐾

Cookouts are a summer favorite, but many BBQ foods can be dangerous for our furry friends!

🚫 Keep these away from your pets:
🌭 Fatty meats and table scraps
🦴 Cooked bones (they can splinter!)
🧅 Onions, garlic, and chives
🌽 Corn cobs (and the sharp corn cob holders!)
🍇 Grapes and raisins
🍫 Chocolate desserts
🍺 Alcoholic beverages
🗑 Keep food wrappers away and trash can lids closed tight.

✅ Instead, offer your pet fresh water, a cool place to relax, and pet-safe treats so they can join the fun safely. Keep a close eye on them, they can be sneaky! 👀

🌡️ Heat Advisory Alert! 🌡️

The temperatures are rising, and it's not just uncomfortable, it's dangerous for our furry family members.

🐾 Keep pets indoors in a cool, air-conditioned space.
💧 Make sure they always have access to fresh, cool water.
🚶 Walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower.
🔥 Remember: pavement can burn paw pads. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.

Signs of heatstroke include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or collapse. If you notice any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.
