Paws for Life Paws for Life is a 501c3 non-profit dog rescue in Chesapeake City, MD. Please call us to see our dogs

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on their vaccinations, so they are ready to go! Adoption fees are $150 to $250 to help offset our veterinary and kennel expenses. As a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization, any and all donations are tax deductible, very welcome, and greatly appreciated. Sky & Ranger 🐶

These two senior pups have so much love left to give and are simply looking for a family to spend their golden years with. While they may have a little (or a lot 🤪) of white hair on their faces, their hearts are overflowing with loyalty, gratitude, and affection.

They don’t ask for much—just a soft bed, gentle pets, and someone to love them unconditionally. In return, they’ll give you quiet companionship, endless devotion, and the kind of love that only comes from dogs who truly appreciate being given a second chance.

Paws for Life is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Thelma, affectionately known to all of us as “Nanny.”

Thelma was truly Paws for Life’s #1 volunteer and one of our biggest supporters. Whether she was selling t-shirts and sweatshirts at Fair Hill International, serving as Ginny’s trusted co-pilot while picking up new dogs and transporting them to vet appointments, or taking on the important role of stuffing fundraising envelopes (a job she took very seriously!), Nanny was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Her kindness, dedication and infectious spirit made a lasting impact on our rescue and everyone fortunate enough to know her. The countless people she touched are part of the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

Nanny, your presence will be greatly missed, but your love and devotion to Paws for Life will never be forgotten.

We love you, Nanny. Thank you for everything.

Chloe has searched high and low for a family to call her own, and after more than a year in our care, we’re still hoping her perfect match is out there.

This sweet senior girl is housebroken, rides wonderfully in the car, and absolutely adores children and enjoys a cat friend. Chloe’s only request? She’d love to be the queen of her castle and the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.

After spending so much time waiting, Chloe dreams of a cozy bed, a family to call her own, and a place where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love!

She has so much love left to give and asks for so little in return—a warm home, kind hearts, and a family willing to give a senior dog the second chance she deserves!

These three dogs came into our care after the sudden passing of their owner, and their hearts are just as broken as ours. One day they had the comfort of a home, a person they loved, and a life they knew… and the next, everything changed.

Their entire world changed overnight, and while they may be confused and grieving, they are soaking up every bit of love and comfort they can get.

Despite all they have been through, they continue to show nothing but love, loyalty, and resilience. They are looking for patient, compassionate homes where they can feel safe again and be reminded that they are still deeply loved.

We know their owner would have wanted nothing more than for them to find happiness and security again. If you are looking to open your heart and home to a deserving companion, these pups are ready for their second chance.
