Missy is a young cat who contains multitudes. This black and white tuxedo girl was born last spring but her life philosophy of “if they don’t love me at my worst then they don’t deserve me at my best” hasn’t served her especially well in landing a forever home. She was consistently been passed over for more outgoing kittens. To be fair, Missy still isn’t great about meeting new people. She has an exaggerated sense of stranger danger, but once she gets to know you, she is a complete love.
Missy loves the bathroom and if she thinks someone in her foster family might be moving in the direction of the bathroom, she runs ahead to get there first so she won’t miss anything. Her ideal transition to a new home would probably involve spending the first week in a bathroom with frequent visits from members of her new family.
For as nervous as Missy is about new people, you might think she was unfriendly, but this is definitely not the case. This little girl lives for cuddles and lap time. She likes to bury her sweet little face in the crook of your arm and purr away and make biscuits on your leg. Many an afternoon Missy’s Foster mom has had to text family members to bring her things because she has been trapped by a napping Missy.
Missy makes herself comfy on her foster parent’s bed every night, but is careful not to wake them up unless there is a bug in the room! Missy loves toys - especially spring toys and the balls, but like many cats, it is hard to beat the entertainment value of a good paper bag or box.
Missy is young and very active and playful. She is an athletic jumper and aspires to be the first feline American Ninja Warrior competitor. She would love a playmate, but she is not the best at making friends. Expect drama, hissing, and growling as she adjusts to new animals. Despite all the initial drama, she has made friends with another younger foster kitten. Missy has been fostering with a large dog and would probably do well as the feline overlord of a cat-friendly or cat-indifferent dog. She would also adjust to a young, playful cat who is willing to overlook her posturing.
Missy could potential work as an only kitty in the right household and with lots of exercise opportunities.
Missy is very assertive about food and will growl softly if another kitten tries to eat from her dish but won’t hesitate to eat from their bowls, or the dog’s bowl, or really any bowl that is unattended. While her foster family does not feed foster kitties people food, Missy will attempt to steal some. She loves the crumbs of baked goods and american cheese best of all.
As you may have already pieced together, Missy would do best in a home without small children although she’d likely do fine with older kids. Missy is spayed and just waiting to find her forever home where she can purr her way into her family’s hearts.
