I would like to officially announce the arrival of Mr. Arlo!!

Arlo is a 4.5yo Golden Retriever who has been with us for a couple of weeks. Most of the people who know me know that I like to be thorough in my testing before continuing with training or opening a dog up for applications. Arlo has passed all my tests and has started the process of training. He is suitable best for psychiatric (Autism, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety) but will likely reach the size to do mobility too pending hip and elbow evaluation. He is not the typical dog I would choose for me but I prefer dogs that are challenging and energetic. Arlo is neither. He is so easy going and calm which makes him FANTASTIC for a first time handler, teen, young adult or someone who is not super active.

Arlo is expected to be placed around 12 mo (December/January) as a started dog. Additional training will be required!!!

The boys had a fantastic Spa day courtesy of Pet Hair Design Studio mobile grooming.

Selina May did a phenomenal job with them and they were so happy. Training makes grooming a breeze. They arrived at 11 and were done by about 2 doing 3 large dogs (one not pictured on this post) and one medium dog with one haircut, 4 baths, blowouts, nails cut and teeth brushed. She even fixed the face on my mom's dog on the spot. If you are looking for a professional and personal service, Selina is amazing.

I had fun today helping a new breeder do photos with her litter. I have a background in photography. This breeder has graciously donated a puppy to the program. Ill be announcing him in a couple of weeks. I want to give him time to settle in and make sure he's prepared to learn the job. Im not concerned but most of you know I tend to be cautious with my service dog selections. My plan with him is to get him a fantastic start and allow someone to finish him on their own or with help. If all goes the way I hope, he will be seeking placement by Christmas time. If you are looking and want to be considered, send me a message to get added to my waitlist.

I can't possibly express in words how AMAZING this puppy is. In just 4 sessions he is well on his way to earning his AKC S.T.A.R puppy and AKC CGC. Shout out to Victoria Smith and Dog Smith purebreds for putting the work in on this puppy's genetics. This is not something that "just happens" This a culmination of careful selection and pairing, testing both physical and temperament.

Liberty Belle K9 offers obedience, socialization, behavior modification, tricks, scent work, Service Dog, and therapy dog classes for dogs from 12 weeks on up. Each package is tailored to meet the needs of both the owner and the dog. We offer one on one classes and group classes. Board and train is currently full.

Our Puppy class is for 12 weeks to 5 months and it is a well rounded class to learn how to communicate effectively with your puppy to prevent unwanted behaviors and to teach them how to be a pleasurable member of your household.

Obedience classes start at 5 months on up. Basic obedience covers 8 commands. The advanced obedience class is designed for dogs who are needing to learn to work off leash.

Behavior modification classes are for dogs who struggle with specific behaviors that can be dangerous or seemingly unbreakable.

Social media is rough sometimes but Today made me happy. I got to see updates on 2 of my former trainees and I'm so proud to see them doing so well. The Heeler mix started with some excited reactivity around things that move and both are on the higher end of energy levels. To see them out in the world, calm and rocking it, my heart melts!!

As promised.... Onxy is whats known as a Heinz 57 or a super mutt.

This boy is just 6 months old and one of the qualities that I LOVE in dogs he has. He can effectively communicate what he wants. Potty, food, water, and bathroom breaks. He also understands the words and confirms what he wants. I taught him to paw at his bowls when he wants water and it took me showing him 2 times before he got it. He also recalls, is solid on basic OB, leash manners and kennel training is done.

Kennel training was rough as I was lazy. Yes even dog trainers have to fix their laziness and boy did I pay for it.

I never expected this boy to sneak in and steal my heart the way he has. He's got so much personality and makes me laugh multiple times a day. He reminds me so much of Ollie in his younger days.

Unfortunately, he does come with some really bad motion sickness so its undetermined if he will ever be able to work as a service dog in the public but at home he shows promise with a solid cardiac alert and he's really good at helping me maintain a schedule. He also has impeccable hearing which is helpful sometimes and annoying other times. He also won't be large enough to do any weight bearing mobility tasks but he can open doors and is on his way to learning other helpful tasks in home.

Only 2 breeds I didn't expect in this test that makes zero sense is the Chihuahua and the APBT. All other breeds make sense. Mostly the cocker spaniel. Even his vet was leaning mostly towards spaniel. This isn't the first time I've done DNA and the other ones have been spot on so I don't doubt its correct, just surprising.

Oliver Queen is really starting to show his age. Both dogs did fantastic at Carowinds although Ollie was a little sore when we got home. We got so many compliments and even had a mom ask if I could train her kids to take photos like these.

Ollie is 11.5 years young and Whiskey turns 3 in January.
